"Just think! Would you have liked this when you were a teenage boy? I really struggled you know! I never got to see Luca at eighteen!"
Leon covered his mouth. His shoulders shook, pursing his lips in a desperate attempt to contain his laugh.
He folded his arms. "Well I don't remember being eighteen all that well either, you know! That was half my life ago!"
"You're not that old!" Lucien retorted. "Just think!!! Everyone remembers at least some of their teenage years!!"
Leon rubbed his hands over his face, unable to hold back his snickers.
"To be honest, I never really saw Diluc as the type of kid to be into this potion remedy stuff..." he murmured with a smile.
Lucien gasped. "Really? Not at all? I loved them when I was a kid! Ohh... I need to go and buy something else then! I got them for such a good deal too..."
Leon stared at the huge bag she was just about gripping with both arms.
"You sure they weren't just... trying to get rid of stock?" A chuckle escaped him. "I think you might've gotten scammed, Lucien."
Lucien's eyes widened when the bag full of glass bottles almost came toppling out of her hands.
"Oh... no... Do you think..?" She frowned. "I thought they would be really helpful..."
Leon's mouth fell agape for a moment. "Hey, I'm sure he'll still like them anyway! He seems like the kind of kid who would accept anything, or even nothing at all! Besides, there's no harm in trying something new."
A pout took over Lucien's face as she glanced over to the window of Luca's bedroom.
"The sun is already setting... and it looks like it might rain. I can't get a new gift now anyway, can I?"
Leon shook his head. He was mindlessly playing with the warm hand that was limp in his, though, in that moment, those fingers just delicately clasped around his.
"Shops are probably closing now. You should head to the winery soon. I'll look after Luca. Do you know the way?"
"I do... Right, I was going to go early so that I could help with the decorations! I got distracted!" Lucien exclaimed.
"Maybe you should keep some and just give a few to Diluc. I don't think you'll be able to carry all of that to the winery," Leon suggested with a laugh.
Lucien hummed. "Okay, I'll pick the most useful ones for a teenager for him!" She hurried towards the door. "See you later!"
"Good luck!"
Leon chuckled to himself as Lucien struggled out of the room. He sighed, his head turning towards the sleeping man laying next to his sitting figure, his slightly rough fingers just limp in Leon's.
Luca really had been sleeping all day, just like Leon said he would. The gods knew why he had drank so much, but at least he seemed pretty comfortable now.
He did get up momentarily to eat and take some pain killers, but immediately knocked out again after that.
Leon exhaled as he stood.
