Leon groaned when he was awoken by the sound of chatter, the morning light almost blinding him the moment his eyes cracked open.

"I knew they were difficult, but really? This just seems pathetic."

"It's the Fatui, after all, haha. Always pathetic."

"Ah, you're awake! Good morning, Leon."

"About time, lazy ass."

Leon shot up, immediately huffing at August's very unnecessary comment. Though, when he noticed Luca's kind smile, he averted his gaze, finally pushing himself off the sofa.

"What're you two doing?" he asked with a stretch, gradually walking over to them at the bed. There seemed to be a few sheets of paper spread across it, while some were in Luca's hands, as if they were analysing them.

Luca's chest heaved, placing the remaining papers onto the bed. "Just finalising a few things before the meeting later. It's likely if this meeting doesn't go well, we'll probably have to go into hiding, or something. They're insistent that Master Crepus has done something and will damage their reputation."

"It's likely that this will break into violence very quickly. If that happens," Luca lowered his voice, pointing at a sheet of paper with an intricate drawing of a man in the corner, "we just need to kill him. Don't be afraid to get rid of anyone else who gets in our way."

Leon sighed, shrugging when August said a quick 'Yes, Sir'. "Always ends up like this."

With a small chuckle, Luca turned towards Leon. "You know this is our job," he said with a smile.

Their jobs, of course, were, well...

The winery's dirty work.

"Hopefully since they're clearly more scared of you, Luca, we can talk this out instead. Then we can get home within a week and not like three months."

Luca's gaze wandered towards the large window, watching the graceful snowflakes rush through the wind.

Despite his overall gentle nature, Luca was feared throughout the lands by many businessmen.

Of course, though his business skills also excelled, the reason he was so feared was simply because of...

The sheer amount of blood on his hands.

And how much he could get away with it.

When it came to getting rid of a threat, to both Leon and August, Luca became unrecognisable. He was a merciless killer, with an excellent way of both his words and his sword, or the like.

And that was the reason Crepus had not allowed him to go on another business trip after Ilse's passing.

For him to rid another person of their life, multiple people even, Crepus feared that this guilt would begin to take its toll upon Luca.

Crepus had in fact warned Leon and August to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't over exert himself.

And they were. But still, at this moment, nothing seemed to have changed.

Luca found killing incredibly fun. And from what his friends could tell right now, he was still the exact same.

"If only it were that easy," Luca said with a chuckle, shaking his head. He turned back towards Leon. "Come on; go and get ready. The meeting is in an hour. I'll do a quick briefing once we're all ready. Okay?"

"Just when I thought I could enjoy the Snezhnayan cuisine," Leon sighed, walking off. "What a shame..!"

"Maybe if you woke up a little earlier you wouldn't have missed breakfast!" August teased.
