With a large sigh, Master Crepus shook his head.
"We can't be sure it's her. There has been no contact for over fifteen years. Luca has tried countless times to contact her, and I'm sure she has tried too. How could we possibly receive a letter from her now?"
Crepus' butler stared at the letter upon the desk, his eyebrows furrowed in thought.
"And I thought their parents cut off all contact with Dawn Winery and Mondstadt. How could she suddenly bypass it after all these years?"
All of a sudden, Crepus covered his mouth with a gasp.
"You don't think they're..."
Elzer shook his head. "We would have received news if they had passed. Let's not jump to such dire conclusions, Master Crepus."
Crepus let out a large breath. "You're right. Well," he picked up the letter they had received from Fontaine, "this letter is definitely authentic. Even the paper is fancy."
Folding his arms, Elzer tilted his head. "Are you not the slightest bit concerned about the actual contents of the letter, Master Crepus?"
"Oh, yeah..."
Crepus scanned the letter, a frown pursing his lips.
This letter has been sent in high urgency.
I apologise for the abruptness of this, Master Crepus. I've gone through thick and thin just to find a way to get this to you. If it doesn't, I really don't know what I'm going to do.
Uncle has escaped. He wants to hurt Luca. Please protect Luca. He is under you, isn't he? At least, you must still be friends with him, right? Please. Please protect him.
Uncle has been scheming for a long time. I've been trying to find out what is up with him, but my parents keep urging me to focus on the business. It's not going so well right now.
Sorry. Sorry I don't mean to
Never mind.
Don't send a letter back. It won't reach me. And I can't afford anyone finding out that I sent a letter to Mond. I can't send another one either. I'll probably be sent to court or something.
Just protect Luca, okay? Please, please let this reach you.
Master Crepus narrowed his eyes, thinking for a moment. "Well, Luca's not here right now. So if that guy shows up to find him, he won't, will he? Since he's not here."
"I'm not required to disclose where Luca is, and it would cause quite the uproar if they tried to hurt me."
Elzer held his chin in thought.
"Perhaps we should get into contact with Mr Luca just in case."
Crepus nodded in agreement. "Good idea. Ask (Y/N) if she would like to send a letter too, if you'd be so kind. Might as well send both of them at the same time."
"Yes, Master."
Elzer nodded slightly, before leaving the room to find (Y/N).
At this time, he knew that she would probably just be finishing the last of her work.
Despite that, she was nowhere to be seen.
Some maids have been complaining that she's been slacking off...
Let me check with Master Kaeya.
The silver-haired butler stepped upstairs, swiftly knocking on Kaeya's door.
