Luca paced outside the living room door, a piece of paper in hand.
It was the letter he had received from Cerise some time ago, about how his family in Fontaine had started looking for Lucien.
Luca had told Leon that he would tell Lucien about it after Diluc's birthday party. Who knew all of this would happen...
Luca peeked into the living room. Lucien was awake, though, like everyday since that day, she was simply curled up in her blanket, her entire body still. Luca didn't expect her to be this affected by Crepus' death, but he supposed it was also everything leading up to it that caused her to become like this.
He couldn't tell her about the letter now. He had to bring the cheery and loving Lucien back first... otherwise this would only break her even more...
Heaving a sigh, Luca folded the letter, placing it into his pocket, before gradually entering the living room.
Lucien didn't look over to see who it was. Her eyes were fixed on the floor in silence.
"Lucien," Luca called softly. "Come on... You should get some fresh air. It might make you feel a little better."
Lucien shook her head. Luca sat beside her, delicately tugging her into his arms. Lucien immediately snuggled into him, taking grasp of his shirt.
Her eyelashes fluttered as her brother ran his fingers through her hair. "Sorry for not being with you before you fell asleep last night. I took Leon to the Cathedral. He's doing better now. They gave him some stronger medication, and a good scolding, because he decided to skip taking them for a day or two." Luca heaved a large exhale. "I should keep a better eye on him. He's resting now."
Lucien hummed. She sucked in a deep breath, allowing herself to be enveloped in her brother's warmth. Luca continued to play with the locks of her soft hair, twirling them around his finger.
"You should get ready for the day," Luca suggested quietly. "It really will make you feel better... We can go on a walk. We can... pick some apples. And then, we can come home... and make an apple pie..?"
Lucien frowned. Once again, she shook her head.
Luca didn't expect her to agree to any of his suggestions. But, at the same time, he wished he could bring his sister back to him, whatever it took.
Luca held his little sister fondly, just like when they were children.
"Okay..." he whispered. "We can stay just like this then."

(Y/N) stood still outside of the winery door. The strong winds of Mondstadt brushed past her, her maid dress flowing in the current that seeped through it.
Her eyelids had shut as she sucked in multiple deep breaths.
She wanted to see Adelinde. But she definitely did not want to see Diluc.
And, of course, when she finally opened the door, the first person she saw just had to be him.
Diluc was leant against the table, a letter in hand.
He was staring at it intently, and didn't seem to notice that someone had walked in.
Is that... Kaeya's letter..?
Diluc let out a small sigh, rolling the letter up, tying it together. He passed it to Elzer, though, he didn't say a thing about it.
Diluc's gaze lifted. It appeared he had noticed (Y/N) after all.
