[There is a little more mention of blood in this chapter! Beware!! When it is mentioned, think of it like Nezuko from Demon Slayer/KNY in Episode 19 hoisted up in Rui's strings.
Y/n looks in the direction of these events, whispers filling her ears. They twitch and swivel with confusion on her head, the whispers getting louder. But, before they could get to any point where it was painful, MK reached into her bowl.
She gasped, the gang erupting in more laughter as an offended look engraved itself into her face. "Hey! My noodles!!"
....
"You call this training?" Strains MK, dodging Monkey King and blocking his attacks as Y/n is gnawing on her Sweet Rope candy. She grins.
"I've barely broken a sweat!" He huffs as he raises his staff above his head, keeping from Monkey King hitting him. Y/n giggles. "I can smell your sweat from here, Mk. It's stinky!" She chirped, biting into her candy again.
"The battlefields no place to be arrogant. Gotta stay humble." Monkey King informs, fighting with his hands still clasped together behind his back.
MK scoffs lightheartedly. "Says you??" He asked, dashing forward and sending a quick succession of attacks in which Monkey King dodged.
MK grinned, seeing as Monkey King was cornered on a ledge. Y/n rolled her eyes as MK laughed heartily.
"Ha! Who's gotta be humble now!?" He asked, swinging his staff. He gasped as Monkey King leapt up and kicked the staff's end head on with a cheeky grin. "Still you." He quipped.
MK yelped, being launched back by the force of Monkey King's kick. "Be glad he was holding back, MK!" Y/n called, mouth halfway full with her sugary treat.
"Alright, class commencing." Monkey King hummed. From there on out, Y/n tuned them out.
She hopped down from her ledge, setting up thier space. She laid down a blanket before walking inside.
She came back out with trays of food, placing them down gently. She smiled, setting up a painting with the old Monkey Gang.
She placed down a few pillows for them to sit on. She readjusted the framed painting, making sure it was facing the sunset. She plopped down, her legs dangling off of the cliff.
"Come on, MK! Happy Lunar New Years." She hummed happily, the stars in her figure glimmering brightly as Monkey King sat behind her and placed her on his lap.
He dug through her hair, picking at dirt as such gently and pulling them out. Y/n purred softly as they stared ahead.
"Yeah, bud. Let's watch the fireworks." Monkey King offered. MK laughed awkwardly. "Uh, thank you, but I really should be getting back to.." He trailed off, seeing the two sit there. Alone. Just like all those thousands of years ago. All the time.
"My... friends...." He hesitated as Y/n ate the dumplings that sat next to them.
Monkey King and Y/n just smiled and faced the sunset again, relaxing in its warmth as the simian picked at the rabbit's hair.
MK sighs softly, completely forgetting about his job. He smiles and sits down, crossing his legs.
"Sure." He agrees, enjoying the calm setting. Monkey King's tail wags a little, and Y/n's ears droop in relaxed joy.
