Part 10 - You Are Safe With Me

I leave Noah behind and I walk to Emma's house. As I'm closer to it, I hear the loud music and I know that the party started. I finally arrive at her bouse and I get in. The place is full and I try to find Emma. I finally find her, next to Becca, her girlfriend.

Tessa: "Happy birthday!" I give her my present and I hug her tight.

Emma: "Thank you. Are you alone? I thought Hardin will come with you."

Tessa: "He will come later. His mother needed help with something and he called me."

Emma: "Oh... Let's have a drink."

Tessa: "Sure!"

We walk to the drink bar and she hands me a shot of alcohol.

"I know you usually don't drink, but please... Just one."

"Ok, fine. Just one shot."

"That's my girl!" We drink the shot and I feel the bitter-sweet taste of the liquid. "Second one?"

"Nope. You know that I don't drink."

"Ok, that's fine. I will drink one for you too." She drinks two shots in less than a minute. "I'm going back to Becca. Enjoy the party!"

Emma leaves and I try to find a place to wait for Hardin. I found an empty armchair and I sit down there, scrolling on my phone. At some point, I need to use the bathroom, so I go upstairs. I enter in the bathroom and when I'm done, my phone starts to ring. It's Hardin.

Phone call

"Hi. I just parked my car. Where are you?"

"I'm in the bathroom, I will come downstairs." I get out and I'm shocked to see Noah in the front of the door. "Noah? What are you doing here?"

"I came to show you that I'm better than that prick!" He pushes me back in the bathroom, making me to drop my phone on the ground.

"Help!" I scream and he locks the door. Shit, shit, shit. "Noah, leave me alone!"

"Shut up!" He yells at me and I can smell the alcohol he drank.

"Don't touch me." I move back until I hit the sink. Shit.

"Yes, I will touch you and you will forget about that son of a bitch!"

"Leave me alone!" I yell and he lifts up the edges of my dress. "Noah, leave me alone!" I start to cry and I suddenly hear some bangs at the door. "Help me please!"

"Tessa!" I hear Hardin's voice and all I think, it's that he needs to save me. "Open the fucking door, asshole!" He yells, but Noah doesn't do anything. He just touches me and I cry. At some point, I hear a loud bang and Noah is dragged away from me.

I stay there, petrified and I watch Hardin punching Noah.

"Touch her one more time and you are dead!" He yells and he comes in the bathroom. "Hey, are you ok? He did something to you?" He checks me, putting his hand on my cheeks.

"No..." I let down the edges of my dress and I try to calm down.

"It's ok, you are safe with me, Tess!" He hugs me. "Let's get you out of here."

"Don't leave me, please." I whisper to him and he doesn't let me go.

"I'm not going anywhere, Tess. Let's leave from here." He takes my hand and we leave the bathroom. Noah is not there anymore.

"Emma... I have to announce her that I'm leaving."

"Just text her."

"No, I need to tell her what happened. Please."
