Part 37 - Love Is In The Air

The days I spend home were so nice and I've missed being with all the members of my family. I even went for a walk with Hardin and we just talked about what happened in the last years. It was like old times. But these moments are done and it was time to come back home.

I just finished to unpack my stuff when I hear the doorbell. I walk to open and I find Hardin sitting there.

"Hi."

"Hi. These are for you." He hands me a bouquet of roses.

"Thank you. Come in."

"Thanks." I smile as I walk to take a vase. I put my flowers in water and I walk back to Hardin.

"What are you doing here?" It sounds mean. I should apologize. "I didn't want the question to sound mean. I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I understand your question. Honestly, I have no idea why I came here. I should be at Nate's place to sleep. I have an early flight, but... I wanted to see you."

"Okay..." I smile and I sit next to him. And instinctively, I put my hand on my abdomen. And I see Hardin eyes moving to my belly.

"How are you?"

"Good. I was feeling really good in the last days. I was nauseous in the mornings, but all good. Thanks for asking."

"I'm glad to hear that."

"And... If we want to try again, how are we going to do this?"

"Us? You want me back?"

"I don't want to be alone in this and I know I need you."

"We will take the right decision, okay? I'm going back to Chicago and I will talk with my boss to help me work from home."

"I don't want you to do big sacrifice for me."

"I have to if I want us to work. So give me a week to figure out everything in Chicago and then, I'll be yours."

"Okay." I smile. "Hardin?"

"Huh?"

"You can spend the night here, if you want."

"

Do you want me to stay here?"

"Yes, silly. We have a lot of years to recover, but I want to make this work." I move closer to him and I put my hand on his cheek.

"I never forgot you, love."

"Me neither." I say and I kiss him. A kiss full of love and passion. I've missed us.

"I've missed you in these years."

"I've missed you too. And I can't wait to start a new life with you and our baby."

"I'm really sorry for what I said."

"You are forgiven. We're good now. We're going to have a baby." I say excited and it's the first time I feel really happy.

"I can't wait to start a family with you, baby."

Today is the day. Today Hardin is back from Chicago and he moves in with me. I'm really excited. In the last week we talked a lot over the phone and everything is as we were in college, but this time we had more mature talks like our jobs, our home and our future with a baby. It's amazing how we were apart for years and once we started to be together again, we took everything from where we left. It's like we never broke up and I'm happy we're back together.
