Tessa
A few weeks later...
"Good morning, Tessa! Christian is waiting for us in his office. A last minute meeting."
"I'm coming. I'll take my stuff in my office and I will be there."
"Alright."
I walk to my office, I take off my coat, I put my bag on my table and I go to the meeting room where are just Kim and Christian.
Tessa: "Good morning, boss."
Christian: "Hello. Let's start the meeting. I won't keep you for long."
Kim: "It's just us?"
Christian: "Yes. I will go straight to subject. I'm opening a new Publishing House in Chicago and you two will go and sign the contract with my colaborators there."
Kim: "But you?"
Christian: "I'm in Europe for two weeks and you will sign for me. You two are leaving in two days. Everything is ready for your leave, just pack some clothes and that's it."
Tessa: "Are you sure you want to send us?"
Christian: "I am sure, Tessa. Now, that was it. Go back to work! Thanks for your attention."
Me and Kim walk out of the meeting room and we walk back to our offices.
"This is the advantage of dating your boss?"
"Well, I have no idea. We don't talk about work at home, so... It was a surprise. It means he only trusts us."
"That's right."
"I'll see you for lunch?"
"I'm having lunch with Robert, I'm sorry."
"That's okay, don't worry. See you later!"
I walk back in my office and I start my work. I'm working at Vance Publishing since college and I have a better job since I graduated and honestly, I love what I'm doing, I'm and editor and I do what I like: I'm reading future books and I say if they deserve to be published or not.
Around 1 pm, it's lunch break, so I get up and I walk to the front desk where I will meet Robert.
"Hi." I smile and I kiss him.
"Hello. Shall we go?"
"Yes."
We walk to the pub next to our work and we order our lunch and I decided to break the news about Chicago.
"I have some news."
"Me too. You start first."
"I'm going to Chicago in two days. Christian picked me and Kim to go and sign the contract with his colaborators."
"Oh, that's great!"
"What are your news?"
"I'm going to Europe with Christian and we will be gone for a week or two."
"That's amazing, Robert."
"I know. And I thought qbout what you told me a few days ago and I want to move with you. But after I'm back from Europe."
