Tessa

Today, me and Hardin are going to see the baby. It's December 23th and I'm exactly 11 weeks. We couldn't see the baby when we planned because we didn't find an appointment and we waited until now. I'm a little bit nervouse because it's been almost five weeks since I saw the baby and I'm afraid that something happened even if the doctor told me to not worry because it's a healthy pregnancy. At the beginning of this week, I finally saw a small bump and I knew I wasn't bloated.

I was so happy to see that our baby was growing and I cried of happiness. I'm really sensitive in this period, but Hardin isn't complaining and it makes me love him more.

"Are you excited?"

"I am." he smiles.

"I hope everything is okay."

"It is, stop being worried."

"Okay, okay."

A nurse comes out and she calls us, so we get inside dr. Keith's office.

Tessa: "Good morning! Dr. Keith, this is my boyfriend and the father of my baby, Hardin." I say proudly and she smiles.

Dr. Keith: "It's good to have you two here. So... How it was in the last weeks? How are you feeling?"

Tessa: "I'm good. I had days when I was nauseous, but everything was good. And it's been a while since I was sick."

Dr. Keith: "That's good."

We have a small talk, then we go to the ultrasound.

Dr. Keith: "This time we're doing a normal ultrasound."

Tessa: "Okay."

Dr. Keith: "I'll ask you to lift up your blouse and to move down your jeans." I do what she says and I get on the bed. Hardin is sitting on a chair next to me as my doctor starts the ultrasound. "Eleven weeks. The baby looks perfect for his age. Here." She turns the screen to us and this time we can see a little human on the screen. "This is the head, the body, little arms and little legs. A healthy baby." She smiles.

Hardin: "Can we find the gender?"

Dr. Keith: "It's still early to see the gender, but you can opt to do some tests."

Tessa: "Okay."

Dr. Keith: "Now, the heartbeat." She presses a button and we hear our baby's heartbeat. I look at Hardin and his eyes are on the screen. I can see tears in them. He's emotional because he's hearing our baby's heartbeat for the first time.

Hardin: "This is amazing..." He kisses my hand and I smile.

After our appointment, we go back home to finish our bags as we're leaving to our parents for Christmas.

"I can't believe we are having a baby!" He hugs me and I smile.

"You are happy?"

"I am really happy. I can't wait to have this baby with you."

"I'm glad we're back together."

"Me too."

"Do you want to eat something?"

"I'm not hungry right now. Let's finish our bags and we can cook together after."

"Okay."

After 30 minutes, our bags are done and we are in kitchen to cook something.

"And? What do you want to eat."

"I don't know. I don't have any cravings."

"Okay... What if we're making Alfredo Chicken Pasta?"
