Part 40 - Happy Ending

It's been a few months since me and Hardin got engaged on New Year.

Everything is going well in our life. We are both working while we get ready for a new chapter: the baby.

We decided to postpone our wedding because the baby is our priority in this moment.

I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant and I'm feeling good. I didn't had any problems in these weeks and I'm really happy.

We are having a little girl and since we found out, Hardin is over the moon. Our parents are so in love with our unborn daughter and they bought her everything. Me and Hardin just bought some stuff for me, like a breast pump, pads and everything I need for the hospital. Our little girl will be spoiled by everyone and we are really happy.

Today is my last day at work and I'm a little bit emotional because I will miss going to work. But I have more important things to do: growing a little human.

I just woke up, but I don't want to get up from bed. She's nice and calm in my belly right now and I know if I will get us, she will start to kick.

I hear the bedroom door open and I see Hardin coming inside.

"Good morning, love."

"Good morning."

"How's baby?"

"She's good. She's not kicking me."

"Are you ready for today?"

"Yes and no. I can't wait to bring thid baby on world, but in the same time, I will miss work."

"I know. But the baby is more important than anything."

"Yes, it is." I smile. I get up from bed and she starts to move. "And she started." I touch my belly and the baby kicks.

"Hello, sweetheart." He carreses my bump. "Today is mummy's last day of work, will you be good for her?" She kicks once and I giggle.

"I think she said yes."

"Get ready while I'll make you some coffee and breakfast."

"You are the best. I love you."

"I love you." He kisses me and he leaves.

I walk in the bathroom and I do my morning routine. After that, I walk back in our bedroom and I start to get dressed. It's the beginning of June and it's warm outside, so I decide to wear a white dress. I add a denim jacket and a white bag and I'm ready for my last day of work.

I get out of the bedroom and I feel a nice smell of eggs and bacon and most importantly, coffee.

"It smells heavenly, babe."

"Let's eat and I will take you to work."

After breakfast, Hardin gets ready and he helps me to put on my sneakers. I had an easy pregnancy and I was able to do everything I wanted until 30 weeks. But since my belly started to be bigger, I can't put on my shoes. But my lovely boyfriend is always helping me.

We arrive at work and Hardin joins me. As soon as we arrive at our floor, I'm greeted by everyone with pink balloons and a lot of pink decorations.

"Surprise!"

"Oh my God!" I cover my mouth and Hardin hugs me from behind.

Kim: "Surprise! We wanted your last day to be easy and nice." She smiles and I go to hug her.

Tessa: "Thank you!"

We get inside to get some drinks and some sweets, then I want to catch their attention.
