Where's my mother?! Dusk repeatedly asked herself as her eyes darted across every mother's photo just to make sure she wasn't going crazy. Her hands trembled uncontrollably as she set the book down, feeling like her heart was going to burst. The shock was becoming too much for her, and she felt like she was going to die. Dusk calm down, breathe! a tiny voice in her head shouted.

Suddenly, she felt something wrap around her and she quickly tried to fight whatever it was off, but as she slowly came back to reality, she was relieved to see Klaus was there. It wasn't a voice in her head that was talking to her, it was him. "Come on, sweetheart. Breathe with me! In... and out..." he guided her, feeling her shaky breaths that eventually turned into calmer ones. "That's it, just keep going... I'm right here,"

Dusk turned her head to look at him, seeing his beautiful and charming smile that always made her feel better. "Now, what's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" he asked. "I-It's our moms..." she barely whispered. "What about them?" The raven pried herself from her boyfriend's grip and showed him the book. "There's six moms in here and seven of us. My mom is missing,"

Klaus's mouth formed into an o shape, not because of the discovery, but because he realized he might have to be the one to tell Dusk the reason behind that. But he felt it wasn't his place to do so, Five should be the one to tell her. "Hey, it's gonna be okay," He rubbed her shoulder. "No, it won't be okay! Even though she's dead, I still have a right to know about her life. This book could finally give me closure..."

Seeing her this upset broke his heart and the urge to tell her was becoming even more intense. But he continued to fight it off. Unexpectedly, she muffled her head into his chest, staining his yellow shirt with her tears and running mascara. "We'll figure it out, moonlit rose. We always do," he pressed a tender kiss to the crown of her head, Part of Dusk felt like this was weird, as she normally didn't cry in front of other people, thinking it would show her vulnerabilities. But with Klaus, she felt safe to do so. He was her safehaven and she was his.

Feeling like a wrung-out dishrag, she glanced up at him, feeling his hand travel to her right cheek, stroking it for a moment before resting there. "Come with me," He whispered, offering his other hand to her. She glanced down at it, a little curious to know what he had in mind. She slipped her hand in his, and they walked towards the elevator, pressing the floor of their rooms before they glided up.

She lovingly squeezed his hand, feeling an immediate squeeze-back. Once the elevator came to a stop and opened its doors, Klaus started running down the hall desperate to get back to the room, still gripping onto his girlfriend's hand. "Slow down, Klausy!" She giggled. The junkie reached into his pocket, hoping to find the room key, but to his shock, it wasn't there. "Damn it, I think Diego has the key. No matter, this buddy can help!" He muttered, grabbing a bobby pin and pressing it into the keyhole.

Dusk watched with curiosity at how fast he was going, it almost seemed like he had done this before. Looking back on it, she figured he'd done it over a dozen times, given the fact he liked to steal Reginald's valuables. "And... voilà, my lady!" he pushed the door open, his fake posh accent making her cheeks blush.

"Now, who's up for some muffins and strawberries?" Klaus walked over to the closet and pulled out a small Styrofoam box and opened it for the raven to see. Six mini muffins were snugly pressed together, containing blueberry, poppy seed, and chocolate chip. And sure enough, the delectable red fruit was also there, along with a small side of chocolate syrup. "When did you get all this?" she asked.
