Dusk's eyes burned as she entered the long and narrow passage. The lights leading them all through the tunnel reflected off the mirrored tiles, making it brighter than it actually was. She had to squint her way through while trying not to bump into her siblings which was not an easy task. They walked through the tunnel for what seemed like forever, until they finally reached the door on the other side, opening it to reveal almost an exact copy of the White Buffalo Suite from Hotel Obsidian.
"Let's never do that again," Viktor panted as they stepped out one by one. "What, narrowly escape the apocalypse?" Five squinted. They all looked around the room, noticing that while most of the furniture was the same, the only difference besides the dim lighting was the White Buffalo's head was gone, and replaced with its stuffed butt. "See? Same suite, just ass-backward," Lila said as Ben grabbed the tail.
"This is some hardcore Alice in Wonderland shit," Dusk shook her head. "Trust us, it only gets weirder," Diego assured. The door leading into the passage slammed shut and everyone looked over to see Reginald with his back against the wall panting. "At last, the other side," he spoke huskily. "Wait, where's Klaus?" Viktor questioned. The mention of him made Dusk's eyes widen with worry. He said he'd be right behind me! "Children, I'm sorry but your brother... I did all I could, but he didn't make it through the tunnel in time," the monocle excused.
Dusk's breathing grew uneven the longer she stared at him. She remained uncertain about Reginald being behind Luther's death, but when it came to her boyfriend, there was no doubt in her mind he would've done anything to get to her. And whatever happened to him must've involved the old man. Suddenly, she felt two hands touch her shoulders and that's when she broke her gaze, she saw both Victoria and Five subtly comforting her. "I'm so sorry, Dusk. I really tried!" Reginald said sadly.
YOU'RE A LIAR! She wanted to scream, but even if she tried to harm him, her siblings would grab her and try to soothe the savage beast like Five did when she attacked Allison. And even that would most likely result in some getting punched in the nose. "We need to go back!" Sloane said as she tried to open the door back to Obsidian, but Reginald would not budge. "There's nothing to go back to. The kugelblitz has claimed its last victim. There will be time to mourn later, but right now we need to keep moving,"
He walked out of the second White Buffalo Suite and the siblings all stared at one another. "Luther and Klaus? Who else could be next?" Viktor said, his mouth slightly agape. "I don't know..." Dusk blinked a few times, trying to blink away her tears. They followed their father down the hall towards the elevator, cramming together as they went to the main level.
Just like the White Buffalo Suite, everything looked almost exactly the same but with a few minor differences. instead of a fish tank and bar, there was a conveyor belt with different types of sushi. And the pillar lights weren't blue, but instead golden yellow. "It's magnificent," Reginald noted. "More like creepy as fuck," Dusk crossed her arms as a chill blew past her. "Lila and I barely made it out last time, so don't let the architecture fool you," Diego warned, holding onto the harpoon gun with a firm grip.
"Okay pansy, but I'm here this time, and the numbers are in our favor," Ben rubbed it in. They walked over to where the receptionist's desk was, and Diego gestured to the bell and sign that looked like it was written in Korean. "Whatever you do, do NOT touch this bell. Unless you want to lose a finger or a tentacle," Sloane walked over to the bell, looking like she wanted to touch it. But Lila got in her path before she could send them to their doom.
