Heading inside the tailor shop felt like I was in a whole new world; everything wasn't what it seemed.
The shop had dresses of all different sizes and not all of them had the same pattern; most were made for custom order and others were made for all occasions and accessories to go with the dresses.
I looked around and saw that the dress that caught my eye in the window was only a display model for the shop's showcase. "This dress is really lovely." I noticed it had matching ballet matte blue flats with a rabbit charm beaded bracelet.
A lady wearing a 1930's floral deco print dress that was hand sewn, comes from behind a sewing table that was buried under piles of scrap fabric and threads.
Under the table a little girl was seen playing with dolls that she dressed up in the bits of fabric laying around.
The Little girl noticed me and ran to the back as a younger lady came out looking like the older woman.
"Oh customers, how lovely." The younger lady said with a smile "My names Constance but you can call me Victoria and welcome to my mothers tailor shop the golden lady." Victoriasays going to reach for a couple of clipboards.
I didn't know what to say or do as the lady looked familiar. "Well? Do you need something dear?" She asks.
"Yeah um I would like a tailored dress preferably like the one you show on display in the window." I nervously said as the lady only smiled "well of course what type of dress would you like?" She asked before I replied, the older lady chimed in "Victoria, I'll take care of her, you go get the fabric ready, I already have it out for later."
The lady says coming up to the front. Victoria nodded and left the room to get the outfit made.
She looks at me and smiles "my name's Jeane. I'm the shop owner." Jeane says, leading me to the back as there were dominos already set up and ready to play. "Why don't we play a game until Victoria is done with your dress." Jeane said as she took a seat.
"Are you sure I don't want to be a bother if you guys are busy?" I said feeling like i'd be a burden and in the way but she assured me it was ok to sit and play a game with her.
"My name's Scarlett." I said introducing myself properly as I placed the first domino on the board.
Jeane smiles, placing her piece on the board. We talked for a while like we were old friends that haven't seen each other in years.
"The last time I played a game like this was with my great grandma. She always got excited when she won." I said smiling not realizing the game ended with a tie.
"Would you like to play another round?" I ask, noticing Jeane shook her head saying "no it's alright." then smiled "it looks like your dress is finished why don't you go try it out? We have a fitting room you can change upstairs to your left."
Jeane said as psycho came following behind Victoria as she carried in a box with a shoe box on top of it "I believe this is yours dear." Victoria said as she placed the box in my lamp.
Right as she did everything started to change into an abandoned tailor shop with the set of dominos still out on the table covered in but was covered in a thick layer of dust. "Wh-what happened?" I asked, seeing I was still wearing the clothes that psycho found me back at the house where I had that encounter with Zack. I noticed the only thing that was different on me was a blue beaded rabbit bracelet around my wrist.
Psycho tapped my shoulder "hey are you ok? I've been looking everywhere for you. The parade is about to start."
I get up and look at him confused "what do you mean looking for me? I never left." I said grabbing my bag psycho sighed "whatever, come on we need to get going before the parade gets here." He said grabbing my hand heading out of the shop and down into an alley "Wha? Why not?" I ask him as he crotched behind a stack of barrels.
Psycho was about to say something but got interrupted by a loud bang of drums that could be heard in the distance along with the faint sound of a flute.
Psycho takes my hand taking me through the back ways to a place called the Cardinals inn.
Going inside psycho goes up to the bar to get us something to drink. I looked around seeing it was just a normal cottage, everyone was unbothered but the parade was going on outside.
"Well what's a stranger like you doing here alone?" Alexander said, coming up behind me teasing.
"Hey it's good to see you again I say getting up to hug him smiling. "It's good to see you too." He said giving a smile then hugs back "so uh what brings you here? To the tavern I mean." Alexander asks as he offers me to take a seat at a table with him.
