A couple hours until the VMA's which Christian was hosting, He and Winona were at home waiting until they have to start getting ready.
Winona was peacefully reading a magazine with Ollie on the couch. Christian walks into the living room and sat down on the couch with them, moving her legs over to his lap so he had room to sit.
He turns on the television and starts watching some TV.
Eventually, Winona's mom arrives and she buzzes her in the building.
"Hi Mom" Winona greets her Cindy with a hug.
"Hi Mrs. Horowitz" Christian waves at her from the couch.
"Hello, You two" Cindy hugged Winona back and smiled at them both. Cindy was in town for work and stopped by their apartment.
"Here is Sunyata's dress, Sweetie" She hands Winona the dress that she was gonna wear to a premiere in a couple of days.
"Thanks" Winona took the dress and walked away, bringing it to the room and hanging it in her closet.
"How've you been, Dear?" Cindy asked Christian, sitting on the arm chair and petting Ollie.
"Doing good" He grinned.
"Should we start getting ready yet?" Winona walked back into the living room.
"Sure" Christian replied, turning his head to her.
"Oh, where are you guys going?"
"Christian's hosting the VMA's tonight"
"And we're going together" He spoke.
"How Lovely." Cindy smiled. "Oh! What are you gonna wear Noni?" She got an idea.
"Uhm, Not really sure yet, Why?"
"I just recently saw this photo of Sonny and Cher from sixty-six in an old magazine. And they were wearing these matching checkerboard suits, I just thought that'd be adorable if you two wore something matching too to your event."
"Really?" Winona chuckles.
"What do you say? You're gonna enjoy it. And the fashion articles are gonna love it"
"Seems like a good idea to me" Christian agreed.
"Alright, Let's get to picking the clothes then." Winona complied.
"Perfect!"
They ended up dressing up in matching white tops, baggy leather pants and black boots.

"Oh my goodness, You two look incredible!" Cindy exclaims.
"Thanks for the idea, mom" Winona smiled, then looked up at Christian.
"Yeah thanks, Cindy" Christian thanked her too, grinning back down at Winona.
Cindy left shortly after, then Winona and Christian also left to go to the show.
They finally arrived and got out the car greeted by some photographers taking photos of them.
"Christian!" "Winona!" Everybody started to call out.
They linked their hands and started smiling for the photos, walking along and then pointed the way of where to go.
While outside, they ran into Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain with their baby Frances. Courtney and Kurt complimented their matching ensembles, Winona and Christian swooning over Frances.
"Your getups are amazing!" Courtney exclaimed and Kurt hummed in agreement.
"Thanks!" Christian and Winona said in unison, then turned their attention to the baby in Courtney's arms.
Winona and Christian started to walk away and waved away to Frances.
The pair also ran into Whoopi Goldberg, Cindy Crawford, and Shaquille O'Neal to name a few who loved their matching outfits.
After everybody got all their pictures taken, they moved on inside then backstage where Christian started getting ready to host.

Teen Beat Magazine Weekly Issue: WINONA RYDER AND CHRISTIAN SLATER: MATCHING AT MTV – Couple Goals! Iconic actor couple, Christian Slater and Winona Ryder arrived at the MTV video music awards together in adorable matching outfits. Slater was hosting the VMA's last September 2nd and Ryder came as his date. Both had arrived at Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in matching outfits. Christian was wearing a white relaxed t-shirt with a white unbuttoned shirt over top and black baggy leather pants. And Winona sported a matching white button-up with identical black leather pants. Photographers all captured the moment they arrived. (insert photo of them posing for the cameras) Both their clothing matched each other perfectly and fans went crazy. Ryder has revealed that it was her mother's idea for the couple to go in matching outfits. The pair also came together to the MTV Movie Awards a couple months back where they were both nominated for best kiss with their co-stars Marissa Tomei and Gary Oldman.
