The day before the Academy Awards, Winona and Christian checked into the hotel they checked into back in '89 when they first attended their first academy awards.
The bell boy delivered their bags to their room then Christian and Winona settled in the hotel room.
"Now, Did you find out if Susanna is willing to negotiate about the rights to the novel with us?" Winona was stood by the window, on the phone talking to her agent Paul.
"I don't have any news about what Susanna said yet, but I managed to schedule us to meet up with her manager on Wednesday to discuss some terms first." Paul replied over the phone.
"Oh! Alright that's good!" She said excitedly.
"Okay! Good to hear!"
"I'm gonna go ahead, just call me on Tuesday for the details, okay Paul?"
"Will do"
"Alright Bye" Winona said, then hung up the phone.
Just as she hung up the phone, Christian walked into the seperate bedroom and catching the last part of her conversation. (their hotel room btw is the type with a seperate bedroom and its not that normal one thats just a big whole room and a bathroom attached)
"Was that Paul?" He sat on the arm chair by the window.
"Yep" She grinned widely.
"So did you talk to Miss Kaysen yet?" Christian asked with anticipation, picking up on her chipper tone.
"Noo, BUT We are meeting up with her manager in a couple days just for some terms to discuss." Winona sat down on the arm rest of the chair Christian was sitting on.
"Wow! That's great news!" He smiled up at her.
Winona hums in response, smiling back at him.
"So how are you doing?"
"What do you mean" She pressed her lips into a thin line.
"Well, considering you're nominated for an Academy award, I'm assuming you're very excited"
Winona shrugs playfully "Mmm" She hummed standing up from sitting on the arm rest "Maybe just a little bit" She joked. Christian laughs.

The next day, Christian and Winona were getting ready for the show in the afternoon.
Two hair and makeup people came over to their hotel room to help Winona get ready.
While they were adding the finishing touches to her makeup and hair, Christian was outside the room, grumbling angrily.
Winona finally notices "Could you excuse me for a moment?" She asks the people putting makeup on her. They both stop and lets Winona walk outside.
"You've been grumbling in here and what for?" Winona came outside to see Christian tending to his hair in front of the mirror.
"The damn barber cut my hair too short" He frowned.
