Liam sat in bed, eating some left over cheese pizza, and waiting for Theo to come home. Theo was coming home early today, Liam did suggest just taking the day off, but Theo refused. Something about needing the money.

Today was Liam's 18 week scan, and he was both nervous and excited, something he felt before every appointment. Liam has invited Melissa along, she'd been asking a few questions, and he thought why not. Melissa McCall won't judge him, she's never judged him so far.

His relationship with his own mother was still tainted, but Liam was slowly letting her back in again, even given her their address in case she wanted to drop by, without the knowledge of David.

Yes, his step - dad still hasn't changed his mind, Liam doesn't think he ever will, but his mom seems hopeful.

Liam stared down at his bump, brushing over it lightly with his finger, and thought about how much goddamn trouble this kid has caused him, and it isn't even born yet. Well, at least it brought out the true sides of his 'family,' Liam maybe heartbroken over it, but he sees now their true colours.

Sometimes, Liam thinks that Deaton must be missing something during the scans, because he feels like he's bigger than he should be. He may not know a lot about pregnancy, but he just feels that way. Or maybe it's just a big baby, who knows?

But surely, Liam would be able to hear another heartbeat, if there was another one in there.

He let out a short huff, and turned his attention to his phone when it beeped.

'I'll be back soon, make sure you're ready.'

Liam tossed his phone away, not bothering to reply. Liam was ready, he was just resting.

Until he felt them little flutters again, bringing a smile to his face. Liam touched where he felt the small flutters, but quickly pulled his hand back, feeling a nudge against it.

Liam sat up, staring at his belly for a good 10 seconds, then lifted his shirt, gently pressing where he felt the nudge, and waited.

He frowned. Liam could've sworn he just felt a kick, its around this time Deaton said he'd begin feeling them, right? Maybe Liam just really wanted to feel an actual kick, rather than those little flutters, that sometimes felt like fish swimming around. So weird.

"Liam, come on. I told you to be ready for when I get home." Theo opened the door, eyes locking with Liam's, before trailing downwards towards Liam's belly, where his hands still rested "Something wrong?" Theo asked, a little worried.

"No, I uh. I thought I felt it." Liam said, smoothing a hand over his stomach.

Theo walked over, taking a seat next to him "You've been feeling them for weeks, Little Wolf."

"No! I meant like - like a kick?" Liam wasn't too sure himself "I don't know. Maybe I just imagined it." he looked back down, confused.

"Where did you feel it?" Theo asked, looking between Liam and his belly, not wanting to miss it if the baby were to kick.

"Uh, here?" Liam pointed, and then looked up, noticing Theo staring at that spot. Liam rolled his eyes and reached for Theo's hand, placing it where Liam believed he felt a kick "Do you feel anything?"

"No." stupid question to ask, Liam. If you can't feel anything, how am I supposed to?

Liam sulked and leaned backwards, slightly annoyed that the baby wasn't kicking now, Liam was positive he felt it.

"We gotta go, get ready." Theo said after a few minutes, clearly a little upset he wasn't able to feel anything.

"I am ready!" Liam raised his voice, pulling his shirt back down "I was just tired."
