A Place of Our Own

Steve and I ended up staying at his apartment for a little mini getaway for a few days. We had Nat bring us clothes and told the kids were just took a mini vacation away which they were actually on board for knowing we needed time alone too. We were sitting in the living room with my legs in Steve's lap as we sat on the couch. He was using my legs as a stand as he sketched. I noticed he kept looking at me.

"Can I help you Captain?" I asked and he smiled.

"No ma'am just using you as a model." Steve said and I smiled.

"Thought you had an eidetic memory..." I said and he laughed. "It's good to see drawing again though." I said and he looked at me. "Connor said he didn't even know you could draw." I said and he sighed.

"Lost my passion for it." Steve said and I knew what he meant since he always used to draw for me when we were together. He closed his sketch pad and I smiled as he crawled up to me and hovered over me on the couch tossing my book aside.

"Hi." I said and he leaned down and passionately kissed me and I moaned.

"We should head home soon." Steve said once we broke apart.

"I know..." I said and sighed.

"I know we have the house by Clint and Laura and I want to leave this place our own little love nest..." I said and Steve laughed.

"Okay..." Steve said.

"We should get our own place for us and the kids now though. The compound is nice but I want us to be a family away from it." I said and he nodded.

"I think we can work on that. A place of our own. The Rogers residence." Steve said and I smiled as he leaned down and passionately kissed me. I started to take off his shirt and my cellphone rang on the coffee table. Steve groaned but grabbed it for me.

"Why is Banner calling you?" Steve asked seeing his name and I shrugged.

"Bruce? Are the kids okay?" I asked.

"Yeah sorry, didn't meant to scare you. I know you and Steve are away but I wanted to remind you Fury is insisting you have a physical done before you start training next week." Bruce said. I was amazed being Hulk size now he was still able to do things around the lab and everything, it was clearly something to see.

"Okay, um...tomorrow?" I asked.

"Yeah just come to the medical wing whenever you get a free minute." Bruce said.

"Sounds good." Bruce said and we hung up.

"Tomorrow for what?" Steve asked.

"I have to have a physical before training next week. Fury is insisting considering the circumstances." I said and Steve nodded. I tossed my phone back on the coffee table.

"Now...where were we?" I asked taking his shirt off and he laughed as he leaned back down to kiss me.

I walked into the medical wing and smiled seeing Bruce and Dr. Cho.

"Hey Andie." Dr. Cho seeing me.

"Is now a good time?" I asked and they nodded.

"Perfect actually." Bruce said and I sat on the exam table. Bruce look towards the door and didn't see Steve or the kids.

"Came alone huh?" Bruce asked and I gave a small laugh.

"Yeah Steve didn't want to freak them out with me coming here thinking something was wrong so they are in the pool." I said and we all gave a small laugh.

"Where do they think you are?" Dr. Cho asked.

"Meeting with Fury." I said and she smiled.

"Lying to your kids...you have the parenting thing down." Bruce said and I laughed. Bruce took some blood and ran some other tests. By the time we were done I was over being poked and prodded. I was getting ready to leave but something was weighing on my mind. Dr. Cho had left to take the results and everything to Fury so he had them, but I was still with Bruce.

"Can I ask you a question?" I asked and Bruce nodded.

"Of course." Bruce said.

"With me being dead so long and everything...do things still all work the same in my body?" I asked and Bruce looked at me oddly.

"I'm not sure I understand..." Bruce said and I sighed.

"Would I still be able to get pregnant and have kids?" I asked.
