So, what a depressing week this has been, right? So for those of you looking for some respite. A weekend of doubling up. This was one chapter that I had to split into two for length. Imlie's world is beginning to expand slowly.

Her senses slowly waking up as she tries desperately to find her footing, trying to retain her identity in a new body.

Enjoy! -- M

No song choice for this one.

Previously,

Imlie slipped her feet out from under Archer who promptly raised his head and jumped off the bed.

"I am so jealous of you, Archie. Jumping around like that's the easiest thing in the world."

Gingerly, she put one foot on the ground and slowly sat up to put the other down. Feeling a wave of dizziness and nausea, she closed her eyes and breathed slowly, willing it away. At least her head had stopped pounding.

She felt Archer's warm body press against her knee and opened her eyes. He snorted and wagged his tail, looking at her as if he could not wait to start the day.

Swallowing back another wave of nausea, she stood up carefully, still weaving on her feet when the door opened.

Startled, Imlie raised her gaze from the floor that seemed to be swimming at the moment threatening to swallow her.

Dev!

She closed her eyes again.

There were two of them in the doorway, Lord, she panicked, feeling her knees give away.

Strong arms stopped the fall and she felt herself pulled up against his solid body.

"Stupid fool!" She heard him mutter as he guided her back to the bed. Still dizzy, she laid her head down on the pillow and pulled her legs up.

She was not talking to him. He thought she was a mental case, didn't he? He was going to get nothing out of her, she resolved and kept her eyes shut.

"I know you're awake."

She opened her eyes and pointedly looked past him.

"How long has it been since you've eaten?"

So, now he cares.

"How long?" He asked, persistent.

Stubborn, she held her silence.

"Fine. F**k off! If you cannot care for yourself, then why the f**k should I?"
