Chapter 59

The Singhania Mansion, the next morning.....

"Dadda!" Imlie put her arms around Veer's neck from behind him, soundly kissing his cheek.

Veer raised a brow and twisted his lips in surprise.

"Someone is very happy." He teased her, delighting instantly in her blush.

"Stop!" She smacked his arm, before he grasped her hand and drew her around to sit on the coffee table in front of him.

Veer gazed at his daughter.

The glow of a newlywed.

The glow of contentment. The one he'd missed seeing with Madhu. Imlie was happy with the man she loved.

He still marveled at the twist of fate that had made this possible.

She raised her brows questioningly, her smile dimming a little.

"Nothing. I'm .....I can't tell you how happy I am for you, my love."

Imlie stood up and held out her hand. Veer rose from the couch and clasped it drawing her to his side, as they turned in unison to walk out of the library into the adjoining garden that led out to the expanse of the Singhania Mansion

Imlie slid her hand out of his grasp and slid it around his waist. Veer looked down to stare at her face.

"Where is Malhaar, Dadda? He didn't pick up the phone."

Veer sighed.

"I guess just like you Malhaar is plagued with his headaches. He's sleeping it off today. Luckily I had some of your medication. His phone is probably turned off."

Imlie's eyes clouded with worry.

"Bichara Dadu (Poor Dadu). I wish he didn't have to have those horrible headaches."

"Hmmm....speaking of those, you haven't had any of late, have you?"

"No. I had wondered with the stress of the wedding.....but no, no headaches." She smiled up at him.

Veer dropped a kiss on her head.

"Good, I'm glad. So, where is this man who makes you so inordinately happy?"

Imlie grinned.

"Well.....He decided to go out with Sheel and Aneesh."
