Chapter 28

Half an hour later, wide-eyed, Imlie surveyed her the high arched ceiling in the lobby of one of India's top tier hotels in awe, her hand securely held in Aryan's as he led her towards one of its high end restaurants.

"Aryan..." Her voice sounded subdued. Aryan looked down as her other hand slipped over his arm, unwittingly clutching his bicep in trepidation.

With raised brows, and a tilt of his chin he wordlessly asked her what was wrong. Why was she so anxious?

"Can't we go to .....Chandni Chowk, maybe? Or ..or Karol Bagh?" She asked, her eyes darting around uneasily.

"I promised you an amazing salad, didn't I? Besides, what....."

"I'm not even dressed for this place, Aryan." She looked around them self-consciously, her gaze lingering on a duo of young chic looking women in their glamorous avatars.

Her fingers tightened further on his arm.

"I'm not hungry anymore, Aryan. Let's go." She tugged at his arm as they crossed the regally furnished lobby and reached the entrance of the restaurant.

"Sir. Table for two?" A woman dressed in a pretty saree asked them, her eyes riveted on Aryan.

Imlie felt envious of the woman when Aryan flashed her a smile that could knock her socks off.

"Please. And if you can find us one with a nice view, my wife and I would very much appreciate it."

The woman's smile faltered and her gaze slid to Imlie who felt grossly unprepared to be in a restaurant of this caliber.

Imlie squirmed under her scrutiny as the woman quickly perused her from head to toe.

Aryan cleared his throat. "The table?" He asked with an arched brow and a cool expression, his voice edged with ice.
