"Every person should have the right to marry the one he or she likes. Let's not define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Rather, it should be a union between two persons who love each other in spite of sexual identity. "

"You said it yourself, marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman. Why suddenly revise it? Legalizing same sex marriage confuses the children and the society. It shouldn't be allowed as it reverses the roles in family life. "

I calmly stated as I try so hard to maintain my cool and elegance, and stop the urge to frown in disgust.

It's so disgusting.

Their opinions. Their beliefs. Even they, themselves.

Actually, I don't understand why some people are so adamant about their crooked beliefs. Aren't they too fool for their own good?

The other side seems to be hesitating—opening their mouths, only to close them again a second after. Or maybe, they'd really ran out of things to say?

Serves them right.

"Don't you have any respect?! Homophobic ka lang kasing gago ka!"

Napatingin ang lahat sa pinanggalingan ng boses. Its a girl classmate from the for group.

So, what now? Their side couldn't win the argument so they're suddenly retorting to personal attacks?

"Ooooohhhhh," panggagatong ng ibang kaklase namin.

"Class! Language! Get back to the topic!" galit na saway ni Ma'am habang ginagamit na pamalo iyong aklat sa mesa niya kaya nagsitigil at kumalma na ang lahat.

Homophobic, huh?

Well if that's what they call us, then okay. I am a homophobe.

I'm the bad guy. That always happens.

But they never thought about respecting my choice of who to respect or not.

That won't be good, right?

Maybe, their opinions don't match with their group, or they just don't care at all. Either way, it's none of my business. We will be graded individually, and it is based on debating skills not on personal opinions.

Pero iba iyong babae kanina. From the start, she didn't say a single word but it doesn't mean she's indifferent to what's happening. From the very first moment I conveyed my argument, all I felt was a harsh and sharp glare from her.

Unfortunately, we're not in a university novel wherein the protagonist would fall for the only girl who stands up against him. If this is a novel, then I am the protagonist and all the others are just dumb extras.
