Zoey & Kelly's Apartment, Bucktown Chicago

Zoey eventually passed out on the couch in a ball but shortly 2 hours later she woke up unable to move any part of her body again. She could see her brother's living room around her but she couldn't move. She tried to call out for Kelly but nothing came out of her mouth. At this point, the blonde started freaking out.

Jay was still passed out in Zoey's bed and Kelly was passed out in his room when they were both woken by the sound of Zoey screaming. The sound starling both of them out of bed. The detective threw his boxers on before sprinting out of the room towards the sound.

When Kelly and Jay ran into the living room Zoey's small frame was asleep on the couch but she was screaming and crying in her sleep. Jay and Kelly made eye contact before they both walked over to the blonde. "Zo, Hey Zo" Kelly said softly touching her shoulder causing her to bolt to her feet with a look of horror on her face while she steadied her breath looking around the moment. the second she realized where she was Zoey felt embarrassed for the sudden outburst.

Zoey let out a shaky breath before she sat on the couch putting her head in her hands. The blonde felt the couch dip beside her. Zoey let out a shaky breath, "every time I close my eyes. I'm back in the creepy pink room. Stuck at this table staring at... human dolls" her voice was shaky as she shook her head fighting the tears forming. "Posing us the way she liked to have a tea party, we couldn't talk or move." Zoey physically cringed. "A gloried primped-up barbie doll," she said as Jay and Kelly stayed quietly.

They never knew what happened to Zoey when she was abducted, the only thing they knew was the profile. After she was found she never talked about it even to her own team. Kelly just pulled his sister into a hug unsure of what to tell her. "I'm okay you guys, just gotta get through the night terrors," Zoey said taking a deep breath before she walked over to the fridge in the kitchen and got a can of her favourite energy drink cracking the metal can open instantly. "Are you sure those are a good idea right now Zo?" Kelly asked her as he stood up.

"I'm probably not going back to sleep at this point and caffeine of not it won't change that," Zoey replied. "Alright, well. I'm gonna go back to bed, you gonna be okay?" he asked earning a nod yes before Kelly disappeared back into his room leaving her and Jay in the living room. "Sorry, If I scared you," Zoey said taking a seat on the couch next to the muscular detective who pulled Zoey into his chest so he could hold her. "Don't apologize for something out of your control. I used to get them all the time when I came home from Afghanistan," he said causing her to turn her head to look at him.

"You served?" she asked him as he nods slowly. "Yea 75th Rangers Regiment, Battalion 3. I did 2 tours in the sandbox before I came home," The detective said softly as Zoey visibly saw a frown form across his features. "Thank you for your service, it probably wasn't easy seeing and doing half the things you saw." the blonde replied earning a confused look from the muscular brunette. "Thanks but I'm pretty sure you've seen some worse things with some of the cases you come across," Jay said. "Yeah but that doesn't make the pain that anyone else may go through less or more valid. It's still painful, burns itself in your brain" The blonde said still looking at the detective that sent her a smile before lightly pressing a kiss to her lips causing a smile to form.

Jay and Zoey lay on the couch cuddling until the blonde slowly fell back asleep listening to the steady rhythm of the detective's heartbeat; while he quietly fan his fingers through her gorgeous platinum blonde hair. Jay smiled looking down at Zoey who was now fast asleep in his arms, as he leaned down placing a kiss on her the top of her head before he swiftly fell asleep with the woman he was honestly in love with at this point.

Zoey woke up to the smell of coffee causing her blue eyes to flutter open, with a groan she looked around noticing she was on the couch and Jay was passed out next to her with his arm draped over her. A smile formed on her face as she rested her head on the detective's bare chest while admiring his features.

A noise from the kitchen brought her back from her wandering thoughts as she carefully got up thankfully not disturbing Jay who was dead asleep. Zoey smirked before walking over to the kitchen where her older brother was making a mug of coffee. "Morning," she said softly rubbing her face still half dead to the world as she reached over trying to steal a sip of her brother's coffee. Kelly moved the mug out of her reach with a smirk, "Nice try, Zo" was all he said as the blonde smiled walking over to the fridge. She pulled out a can of liquid energy cracking it open before taking a few gulps of the fruity flavoured liquid. "Your gonna have a heart attack with all the caffeine in those," Kelly said looking at his baby sister who just rolled her eyes at the comment. "I'm pretty sure with my line of work, and temporary lapse of judgement at times is gonna be the death of me before this gets the chance," Zoey said sending her brother a bitch seriously face.

"So, thought you said it wasn't serious?" Kelly asks taking a sip of his coffee, "What?" Zoey asked confused leaning against the counter as her brother looked over to the couch where Jay was still sleeping where she left him. "It's not. We haven't really talked about it... Why do you say it's serious?" Zoey asked getting awkward about the topic earning a look from Kelly. "Well let's see, every time you come your always hanging out, going out for drinks, hooking up and what else that look you have every time you see him..." Her brother said more quietly as the blonde face noticeably started going red as she looked over towards the couch where Jay was still sleeping thankfully. "I've never seen you look at anyone like that before," Kelly added his gaze still looking at his sister who hadn't taken her eyes off Jay.

Zoey shrugged not sure what to say to her brother, "He's been stuck in my head since before we even met," she said quietly looking at Kelly who nodded his head. "Then why are you two a thing? you're basically already dating." her brother replied earning a look from Zoey who sighed. "Because a part of me knows it's not gonna last Kells. Anytime I'm genuinely happy or things start going well it's like the floor gives out and I'm back at rock bottom again," Zoey said before taking another sip of her drink. "Zo, you can't spend your whole life afraid to be happy, Jay makes you really happy Zo and truthfully, you'd be a dumbass to let whatever this is going on... go" Kelly said looking between his sister and the detective on the couch. "I'm gonna go for a run, I'll be back in an hour or so. Try to keep the noise down while I'm gone, I don't need the neighbours making noise complaints." Kelly said sending a smirk to Zoey who rolled her eyes at the comment as he walked out the front door.
