Firehouse 51, Chicago
Jay and Zoey walked up the driveway to the firehouse catching Matt's attention almost instantly. "Heyy love birds, how are you doing?" Matt asked with a huge smile as they walked over. "We need to talk to you, Boden and Kelly, It's really important," Zoey said as the blonde lieutenant's face went from happy to serious instantly. "Yea, this way," he said before he started leading them inside. "Severide, a minute?" Matt said waving her brother's attention from the common room where he was eating lunch.
The darker-haired squad lieutenant looked up before walking over to the door, confusion hit his face when he saw Jay and Zoey. "What are you doing here? I thought your working?" her brother asked. "We unfortunately are, we need to take to the both of you and Boden," Zoey said as her brother nods his face getting serious knowing that if his sister was back in town for work it was never good for the city. It usually meant a lot of deaths and fear.
Matt knocked on Boden's door as they all walked in. "Halstead, Zoey?" the fire chief said with confusion on his face. "So what do we owe the visit? also congratulations on your family." Boden said causing Zoey to crack a small smile. "Thank you chief, um I figured you should be informed that...We believe that the Bucktown bomber has returned." the blonde said causing Kelly Matt and Boden to freeze staring at her. "What makes you say that? we haven't had any calls or suspicious activity" Kelly was the first to say to his sister. "Because he's been... sending me letters on and off for months. I just didn't piece it together until this morning," the blonde agent said.
Zoey could see a range of emotions hit her brother as she handed Boden the file so far. "What do you mean you didn't piece it together until now?" Boden asks looking over the file. "The first 2 letters just seemed like a twisted joke. I kinda thought squad and truck were in a prank war again. I let left it alone and the letters just stopped, I forgot all about it until I got these this morning," Zoey said as Boden froze at the photo. "Is that the scene from 3 years ago in Bucktown? Matt asked instantly recognizing the scene as he handed the photo to Kelly. "Where'd you find these?" Kelly asked looking at his little sister as he handed her the photo back. "This was on the apartment door a few months ago, this one was slipped under my hotel room door a few days later, this one was on my car than they stopped until I found this note on my car this morning and this was stuck to my parking sign at work," she said as her brother just starred at her in horror and disbelief.
"Zoey you need to be more careful and you should have said something sooner," Kelly said clearly upset. "Kelly I don't need a lecture right now, both of you can be mad or disappointed or pissed at me. I don't care, right now, what I care about is finding this guy before he starts tormenting the city again. Just be on alert and call us if you see anything suspicious," Zoey snapped not in the mood for Kelly adding to her already rising stress levels. "Thank you for informing us, we'll let you know if we find anything or hear anything," Boden said as he shook Zoey and Jay's hand's before they swiftly left the building.
21st district Police Department, Chicago
It didn't take long for Jay and Severide to arrive back at the station that went silent the minute they got back, "What happened?" Zoey asks feeling the energy was off in the room as all eyes fell on her. "Your Camero had a device that got triggered late and it detonated in the parking structure of the agency," Hotch said Zoey froze going pale. "What do you mean it triggered late?" she asked earning a look from them. "Meaning when you found that letter and started your car at the hotel, the bomb was supposed to detonate," Morgan said.
"I don't understand, why is he going to so much trouble to get my attention?" Severide said looking at everyone. "Because you're probably a part of his fantasy," Reid said, "It was the first case you worked with the BAU, you tried really hard to find this guy too. I think he enjoys the game. You chase him he gets a thrill by doing high-risk things and gets more of a release when he doesn't get caught," Reid points out as well. "We were all on that case so why did he single me out? he could've sent letters to anyone else" Severide asked not angrily but trying to piece this giant case together.
"Who knows, but you must have crossed paths with him at some point and unintentionally caught his attention," Hotch said. "Great just what I need, a serial bomber stalker. Because norman men take rejection so well" Severide said with a huff sitting down at Jay's desk. "Men can take rejection, little bitch boys can't," Antonio told her with a smirk causing her to chuckle a little. "Okay, so where do we go from here?" Severide asks, "I hate to say it Kid but you're gonna have to sit this one out." Rossi said striking a nerve. "Are you kidding me?!? I'm not sitting back while this creep is still out there- Severide." Hotch said giving the agent a look to tell her to calm down. "Hotch there has to be something I can do to help," Severide said, "Sorry, you're too close to this case and potentially this unsubs target. I'm sending you back to your apartment and Morgan's gonna stay with you while we start sorting this out." Hotch said.
"Unbelievable" She scoffed rolling her eyes before grabbing her bag and walking down the stairs beyond pissed off. Morgan quickly ran down the stairs and out of the building following the angry blonde outside of the station.
