Chapter 17

Zoey & Kelly's Apartment

Jay and Zoey sat in his truck outside the apartment for a moment as the blonde looked up at the lights on in the apartment from here. "Want me to come with you?" Jay asked as Zoey shook her head. "I'm gonna tell him about today too, how about I call you after I break the news to Kelly. Plus I gotta call the team and let them know we're both okay. Severide said referring to herself and the growing fetus. "You sure?" Jay asked her skeptically as she smiled leaning over and kissing his lips before she hopped out of the truck with her go back. "I love you," Zoey said as she made her way across the street and into the building on the way upstairs she called Hotch to let him know that she and the baby were okay. He was relieved and told her to take tomorrow off the team was doing the same and they would start fresh in a few days. 

It didn't take long for Zoey to walk upstairs unlocking the apartment door and walking into the living room where Kelly was sitting on the couch watching the hockey game with Matt. The sound of the door closing caused both of them to look at her from the couch. Zoey walked over laying on the couch next to Matt and Kelly and she laid her head on his shoulder. "You okay?" Kelly asked looking down at his sister who nods while looking at the screen. "Just humanity never ceases to disgust me the more I go back to Florida," she replied. "Wanna talk about it?" Matt asked. "You wanna hear about the serial killing cannibal we caught?" she replied more rhetorically earning a mortified look in reply. "I honestly don't think you could stomach it," she replied. "You wouldn't believe some of the things we've seen," Kelly says. "Are you sure?" she replied looking at both of them who just nod. 

Zoey sighed and told them everything about the case including how the missing girl they were searching for was lunch thanks to their unsub. "And you- I didn't know. I just got back from med though been constantly sick all day," Zoey replied. "You know you should really see if all the throwing up is because of the head injury you took a month ago," her brother said earning a pause. "Yea, about that..." Zoey said slowly while looking at him, "I'm. Pregnant" the blonde said, watching her brother's face flash with a dozen different emotions before he just pulled her into a hug. "I'm just glad it's not Jack's. It's not right?" Kelly asked just to be sure, "No it's not Jack's they would have meant Jack and I had sex during the last year of our relationship." Zoey replied earning a surprised look from her brother. "A year?" he asked as she nodded her head slowly. "Like I said before Jack was a loser that didn't deserve you," her older brother said. 

"Does Jay know?" her brother asked as she nods, "He said he'd be here every step of the way," Zoey said fighting a small smile. "Good because I'd have to kick his ass if the answer was different," Kelly said with a smile before hugging his baby sister. "I'm gonna be an uncle," he said to Matt with a smile. "Where is he anyways, you too are always glued by the hips when your home," Matt asked. "I told him I'd call him to come over after I told Kelly I was pregnant." she said as Matt nodded. "Probably wise," he said earning a light laugh from the blonde. 

Zoey pulled out her phone shooting a message to Jay telling him to come over and that Kelly knew and was calmer than she thought. It didn't take the dark-haired detective long to appear at the doorway holding pizza, garlic bread and tacos one of Zoey's constant cravings lately. 

The blonde face lit up when she saw the food in the detective's hands, "Have I mentioned I love you?" Zoey asked earning a small laugh and smirk from Jay as she let him into the apartment. "Once or twice," the stoic detective replies as he enters the apartment placing the food on the island in the kitchen. 

It didn't take more than a minute to be in the kitchen hovering on her feet as she threw the pizza box open and grabbed a slice starting to devour the delicious food. "This is heavenly," the blonde said earning a laugh from Jay, Matt and her brother as they watched her eat some pizza once and whilst snacking on a taco in the other. "And the cravings begin," Kelly says walking into the kitchen to get a beer and holding it out to Jay. The detective smiled and took the bottle sending, Kelly, a small thanks. 

"You're hurt my sister and I'll kick your ass," Kelly told him as Jay nodded looking towards his girlfriend who was being adorable. "Why would I hurt the best thing to come into my life?" was all Jay replied as Kelly smiled and nodded liking his answer. "So are you gonna tell dad?" her brother asked causing Zoey to nearly choke on her pizza. "Kelly you're not serious?" Zoey asked looking at her older brother who was dead serious about the subject. "He should know- Why Kelly? the man destroyed our family and could never be bothered to give either of us the time of day. Why would I tell him I'm starting a family? the man wouldn't know the word if it jumped up and wacked him," Zoey said getting instantly angry about the subject. Kelly sighed, "He's not perfect but he's still our dad," Kelly said causing Zoey to shake her head. "That man stopped being my dad when he fucked my English teacher in 9th grade, ruined our family oh and I had to walk around for 4 years being mocked over the man. So no, I don't feel the need to tell Benny a damn thing." Zoey snapped engulfed in anger as she set threw out what she hadn't eaten not hungry anymore as she sent her brother a look before she stormed off to her room slamming the door shut.  God these hormones were getting ridiculous, Zoey thought to herself as she laid down on her bed and began silently crying. 

Why should her father know? it's not like he was ever there for her. More tears started falling from her eyes as she just lay there thinking. A small knock sounded from the door as Zoey sniffled through her tears. The door cracked open a bit and Kelly appeared in the doorway sighing at the sight of his baby sister. "Zo, I'm sorry," he said walking into the room only to have the blonde stand up and engulf him in a hug. She could never stay mad at Kelly especially since he'd always ALWAYS been there for her and basically took care of her when their parents divorced and their father decided one-night stands and whiskey were more important than his own kids. 

Kelly hugged his sister while rubbing her back while she just stood there crying. "He didn't care then, why would he now?" was all the blonde said causing Kelly to hold her a bit tighter at her words that sent pain through his heart. "He does care Zo, he just has a really horrible way of showing it," her brother said softly just trying to soothe her and calm her down.  "How about we ask Matt and Jay if they wanna have a movie night?" Kelly suggested hoping it might take her mind off their father and all the hurt he brought to them over his life. Zoey nods her head as she wipes her tears away as her brother leads her back into the living room where the 4 of them sat on the couch and began watching The Hunger games. 

"I don't know how you can enjoy watching movies like this after what you see working with the FBI," Jay said shaking his head at Zoey. "This is child's play compared to half the cases I worked," the blonde said softly with her eyes still fixed on the tv and the movie continued.
