daryl was cleaning his arrows as stella watched, he didn't ask why she was there nor did he care, she looked so happy and he wasn't about to ruin that by telling her to leave him alone. "are you robin hood?" stella asked making daryl look away from his arrow and towards the girl. "no." daryl said shortly before going back to cleaning the arrows.

"then why do you have a bow?" she asked again "'cause i do." daryl replied "i thought only robin hood had a bow." she said "shut up, kid." he said "no." she replied making him look away from the arrow, looking at stella with a small glare. "oh! i'm sorry, is she bothering you?" lillian said coming up behind her daughter "nah, don't worry about it." daryl said looking up at lillian, this being the first time he actually looked at her.

"go run along, play with carl." she said while pushing her daughter towards where carl was. "anyway, sorry. i guess i've got to keep a better eye on her." she replied before walking away. "don't go bothering people, okay?" lillian said while looking down at her daughter "i'm sorry." stella said. "i'm calling him robin hood, though." the girl continued "hey, wanna go down to the quarry with me and carl? go catch some frogs?" shane asked looking down at stella, who nodded eagerly and ran towards carl.

she joined the girls as they did laundry, she looked up and heard stella laugh, a genuine laugh, one lillian hadn't heard in a while. "can someone explain to me how the women wound up doing all the hattie mcdaniel work?" jacqui said "the world ended. didn't you get the memo?" amy said with a smile on her face as lillian laughed. "it's just the way it is." carol said "yeah and it's stupid, we should make the guys do it next time." lillian said with a groan as she cleaned one of stella shirts that she had rolled around in the mud in.

"i do miss my maytag." carol said "i miss my benz, my sat nav." andrea said "i miss my coffeemaker" jacqui chimed in. "with that dual-drip filter and built in grinder, honey." she continued while ringing out a shirt. "my computer.. and texting." amy said "i miss my vibrator." andrea said making lillian laugh.

lillian noticed as carol looked around "me too." carol said making everyone laugh louder before ed walked over "what's so funny?" he asked while taking a puff of his cigarette. "just swapping war stories, ed." andrea said, everyone was quiet while he watched them do the laundry. "problem, ed?" andrea said once again.

"nothin' that concerns you. and you ought to focus on your work. this ain't no comedy club." ed replied "if we ain't doin' it right then why ain't you doin' it?" lillian asked while standing up in front the man who just stood there watching them while smoking. andrea stood beside lilian and threw a wet shirt at him, which he just threw back "ain't my job missy." ed said.

"so that makes it ours?" lillian questioned "what is your job, ed? sitting on your ass smoking cigarettes?" andrea said "well, it sure as hell ain't listening to some uppity smart mouthed bitch." ed replied "tell you what- come on. let's go." ed continued, looking at carol. "i don't think she needs to go anywhere with you, ed." andrea said once again "and it's none of your business. come on now." ed replied "wait, carol, you don't have-"
lillian said, being interrupted by a harsh shove from ed, making her land onto the rocks, scraping up her hands.

jacqui helped lillian up, it happened all so fast, andrea was screaming, carol was crying, amy was comforting carol, and ed was being beat by shane. "shane! stop it!" lillian said while the other girls also yelled.
