"I think I finally got a sappy nickname for you." Callum said, sitting up in excitement. Currently, they're on the palace roof, stargazing.
Rayla sat up, interested. "Ok spill it then!"
Callum flashed her a smile. "Stargazer."
Rayla's cheeks flushed immediately. "Why?"
"Well because, every time you look at the stars it's like seeing you in a new light." He breathed, tucking some hair behind her ear. "You look so free, and happy. Plus, it looks gorgeous when the stars are reflected inside your purple eyes. You just look breathtaking."
Rayla just gapped at him, her mouth forming into an o. She lightly pushed him. "Well that's not fair! How am I ever supposed to come up with something just as nice?!"
He smirked. "That's the point."
She huffed. "Fine then! Your new sappy nickname will be my love."
His cheeks instantly turned beet red. "That's not fair."
She gave him a cheeky grin. "Admit that you've been defeated."
"Never!" He pushed her slightly, making her shriek when she got closer to the ledge. Immediately her screaming became laughter as she clung onto him.
"Rayla! Are you ok?" He asked, but she just kept laughing.
"Sorry." She managed out, wiping the tears in her eyes. "It just reminded me of the day we met."
Callum's face instantly softened. "You never really told me why you were gonna do it."
Rayla layed down, making Callum do the same. They stared at the stars as she tried to come up with a good answer.
"It's just, you've seen how we eat. That day, town just looked five times worse than ever. Then I met you. Probably the first person who didn't fake being nice to me because I was a princess. That moment, I felt like such a waste of space and resources. We have feast everyday that can feed 3 of our villages! I thought killin myself would help people. I thought I would be takin up less space."
Callum cupped her cheek with his hand. "But if you killed yourself, I probably would've starved to death right now."
"You're right, again."
"I'm always."
She turned to him. "New rule, those nicknames are only for each other. No callin me stargazer in from of Ethari. He'll legit die."
Callum laughed. "Fine then, just call me Cal."
"Ray for me."
He smiled at her. "You sure you don't want me called you Stargazer in front of Ezran?"
"I will murder you."
"You could've easily if everyone believed that I "harassed" you."
"You're too sweet for that."
"Says the most beautiful, creature to walk to planet."
She smiled, cheeks turning red. "I love you Callum, more than anythin."
"I love you too Stargazer."
