Callum groaned, opening his eyes. He looked at Soren who was sleeping against a wall.
Where am I?
He took in his surroundings, realizing that he's at the royal healers.
Rayla.
Remembering her, her frantically checked if she was around. She wasn't.
What if she's dead.
That's stupid, he would also be dead then. He looked down at his palms, gasping at the sight.
They were covered in blood.
He choked back puke, knowing that it wasn't his blood.
He moved his leg, cringing from the pain. Looks like he's not moving from this. The door opened and Callum watched as a healer came in. She looked at him in shock.
"You're awake." She squeaked. Callum groaned and felt his pounding head.
"How long have I been out for?"
She cleared her throat and straightened up. "Around a day."
Callum looked around. "Where's-,"
"She's still out."
Oh.
Callum sighed. "How's Runaan and Ethari?"
"They've been better."
Wow this healer is really beginning to get on his nerves.
"Do you have any good news for me?"
"You'll be able to do magic in a month."
"Go fuck yourself"
...
"This is your fault." Soren taunted, smiling when Callum frowned. He hobbled down the hallway, using Soren as support.
"The healer's a bitch- SHIT THAT HURTS!" He yelled, clutching his rib cage. Soren stopped in concern and braced Callum. He took 3 deep breaths, standing up again.
"I'll get her banished." Soren mumbled, making Callum crack a smile.
"How far was that drop again?"
"Around 70 feet oh my god i see Rayla!" He exclaimed.
"Where?" Callum said frantically.
Soren gently turned him around so he was facing a window that peered into a room. "There!"
Callum gasped in horror. Somehow she managed to look ten times worse, bruises covered her face and body. He gulped, feeling the worst is yet to come.
"Help me get inside."
