Callum changed into a light blue fleece pyjama, and crawled into bed to wait for Rayla. They did this almost everyday, they would talk about things. But she's been gone for 2 weeks, so they're gonna catch up tonight. He pressed his back against the wall and waited patiently.
A matter of seconds later she walked in with soft pink pyjamas, her hair down and messy. She smiled and basically leaped onto him. She giggled as he kissed her hair, pulling her into his chest.
"I missed you." She muttered into him.
"I missed you more than you'll ever understand Stargazer."
She looked up at him, cheeks slightly pink. "God you're such a sap."
"Wasn't always like this."
Rayla let out a breathy laugh, playing with the hem of his pyjama. "So I was kinda thinkin that maybe tomorrow before the ball we could have a picnic. Y'know where we had our first date?"
Callum's face was enough of an answer. "I would love to, but I kinda count where we had our first kiss our first date."
Her face lit up. "Stop you do?"
"Yeah I do." He said, grinning.
"I never thought of that."
"It was the best first date anyone could ask for."
"Agreed."
He smiled. "And the best kiss."
"It was amazin, I wish that was my actual first kiss." She admitted.
Callum gasped. "I wasn't your first kiss!?"
"I was?!"
"No, sadly you weren't."
Rayla shifted even closer to him, so that she's basically on top of him.
"Tell me."
Callum smiled and looked up at the ceiling, trying to remember.
"I was around 14, and there was this girl that used to follow me around in the village. I was always kinda creeped out because of her." He let out a laugh, thinking about the memory. "One day I asked her why she always followed me, and she admitted she liked me." He turned to Rayla and saw her face looked at little pained. "Oh no, don't worry about that I was totally creeped out by her. I told her that I didn't feel the same way and she just grabbed me and kissed me!"
Rayla sat up. "Do you want me to hang her?"
Callum burst out laughing, pulling Rayla back in. "No, but you should hang her for giving such a bad kiss."
Rayla giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Ma first experience was terrible."
"Really?"
"Really."
Callum chuckled. "Wouldn't have thought, you're such a good kisser."
Rayla hit him playfully. "I would kiss you so hard if i wasn't so tired."
"You are?"
Cue the yawn.
"Did anyone ever tell you that you yawn like a cat?"
Rayla burst out laughing, burying her head in his chest. Her giggles were like vibrations, making his heart beat fast.
"No." She said between laughs, voice muffled from his pyjama. "No one has ever said somethin so ridiculous to ma face before!"
"What about Respen calling you a crazy bitch?"
She looked up, tears in her eyes from laughing. "Ok maybe not."
She then stopped laughing, looking down.
"He was my first kiss." She said quietly.
Callum's heart broke. "Oh Rayla." He moved to cup her cheek.
"It doesn't matter who your first kiss is, it's every single one after that counts."
She looked up, a slow smile spreading across her face. She looked relieved even.
"I really don't deserve you." She said, voice cracking.
"Don't be ridiculous Ray. You saved me, and you saved Ez. I don't deserve you."
She laughed. "I love you Callum."
"I love you too Ray."
Cue another loud cat yawn.
"Oh c'mon! We were having a moment." Rayla just laughed.
"Ok that's it." He moved her to his pillow. "Sleepy time."
He laid down with her, sighing in relief. "I've been waiting to do this for 2 long weeks."
She giggled and wrapped her arms around him. "It was so lonely without you."
"Admitting you actually need me?"
"More then you'll ever know."
And that's when they fell asleep, in each other's arms.
Would be the last night that happens for the next couple of days.
