Finn stood in the foyer, worrying over the sleeve of his new blue sweatshirt. He stood uncomfortably in his shoes.

Wirt stood next to him, looking strange not in his usual cape, but instead a sweater over a collared shirt. He didn't look uncomfortable in his shoes, though.

They were waiting for the others to get ready for their first day of school, and Frisk was asleep on the couch, already ready.

The first time they went out of the shack, Bipper cast a spell on Finn, Wirt, and himself to completely cover their peculiar appearances, including their clothes, to unwanted eyes.

That enchantment held without Bipper casting it again, but this time he had to cover everyone. To save Bipper's energy, he made it so only their physical anomalies were covered, therefore they had to dress normally.

Bipper came down next in a yellow long sleeve shirt and gray pants. Next was Mabel in a sweater with the bottom half patterned to look like library shelves.

Honestly, what was it with them and non-summer apparel in the heat of the season?

Morty walked briskly in after them in a tee-shirt. The only logical one out of any of them.

Mabel got Frisk up, and they all set out. It was too early for them, so everyone was quiet. Even Bipper.

It wasn't really too early for him, but he looked at each of the group as if checking to see if his spell worked, even though they could all see Wirt's antlers, Morty's eyepatch, and Finn's crown, which he couldn't part from for long, and he already didn't sleep with it.

Soon they got to where Frisk split off from the group and headed in the direction of the Middle School.

They were in eighth grade, Finn was a freshman, Mabel, Morty, and Bipper were sophomores, while Wirt was a junior.

"I hope they don't kill anyone," Bipper said as they all watched Frisk go. "It would be a pain to erase everyone's memories of that person or people."

"You can do that?" Morty asked.

"Well, yeah. My powers are unlimited when it comes to matters of the mind," Bipper said.

"Hopefully it won't come to that," Wirt said.

"Mmhm," Bipper hummed happily.

They eventually came to a giant brick building tucked away behind an old factory and the edge of the cliffs surrounding the town.

"School," Finn said nervously.

"High school!" Bipper happily exclaimed.

"'All hope abandon, all ye who enter in'," Morty said mysteriously, looking at everyone streaming into the building.

"Aw, you read the book I gave you," Bipper said sappily.

"Whatever," Morty replied, storming off.

They watched as he went, expertly pushing through the small crowd.

"What was he even quoting?" Mabel said as the group started their way towards the building again.

"Inferno," Wirt answered. "The Divine Comedy."

"It doesn't sound very funny," Mabel muttered as Bipper laughed and said, "Of course you know what that is, Beasty."

They went into the building, and all went their separate ways to their respective classes.

Finn glanced down at his hand where he wrote his schedule in permanent marker. Bipper told him that it was lame to carry a piece of paper around all day, but, unlike the others, Finn couldn't memorize his classes in time.
