I turned on the kitchen sink and let the cold water heat up pot of cold water I was about to boil for my tea.

It was a Saturday night and I was home alone, at least until Lucas came over saying he had to ask me something.

I put the pot of water on the stove and grabbed two cinnamon sticks we had in our pantry and dropped them in. I turned the stove on and let the water boil.

"That's how you make your tea?" Lucas asked me.

I nodded. "Yeah it's canela. It's cinnamon tea. It's the Mexican version of Green tea." I told him.

He smiled. Lucas always found me being Mexican amazing. He loved my background and loves it when I talk about it or Mexico itself.

The water started boiling and I walked over to it and turned it off. I set it aside and reached for two coffee cups and sugar. I poured the tea in and walked over to Lucas with his cup and handed him the tea.

"Here I don't know how much sugar you want." Lucas picked up the spoon and added sugar to his tea.

I added two spoons of sugar and stirred it around.

"So what was it you wanted to ask me?" I asked as I took a sip of tea.

"Me and Marcus wanted to know if you would want to be in one of our vines with us." Lucas asked me. "Will you dance with us for seven seconds?" He laughed a bit at his last words.

I looked up at Lucas and smiled. "Really?"

Lucas nodded.

I smiled even more. "Yeah. I'm down." I told him

Lucas smiled. "Good so tomorrow? At noon."

I nodded.

After we shot the seven second dance video. We made our way home.

"Kim you can move." Dari told me on the way to the car. Lucas came over by me and wrapped his arm around me.

I smiled. "Thank you." Lucas kissed my cheek.

"How long have you been dancing?" Dari asked me.

"Umm, I started because my mom made me and Xavier take bachata lessons when I was eight."

"Bachata..?" Marcus asked confused.

"It's a type of dance for Latinos." I told them. "Mostly involves hips."

They nodded. "Why did your mom make you take it?"

"She said we needed to get out of the house. She gave us a choice to let us pick what we wanted to do. But we didn't take her seriously so she made us join bachata and salsa. After that we did a few dance competitions for bachata and won second place."

"Wow Xavier being a dancer? I can't picture that." He said laughing.

"He's real good at it." I said.

"I wish I can see that." Marcus said.

"He hardly dances now. It's something he never mentions." I told Marcus.

I stood outside my front yard. Today the day I've been dreading for most of my life. My older brother Xavier was now going away to start his college life. So was Leah. Well her third year of it. Leah was dropping off Xavier along the way to her school since his school was on the way to Leah's.

Me and my two brothers plus my parents stood outside saying bye since we wouldn't see them until September for Zach birthday and again in October for my mom birthday.
