"that's the third one this week, are you sure you're okay?" Kodin spoke to his sister, who sat with her head in her hands while he cleaned up the broken glass on the floor.

"i told you i'm fine, Kodin"

"this isn't fine, Kaitlin!" he snapped, standing up straight and staring at his sister. "this? this is fine? are you seriously listening to yourself, this isn't okay"

"i just dropped a glass, accidents happen"

"three times in one week? you seriously expect me to believe you're that clumsy?" he threw the glass into the trash can, crossing his arms as he awaited an answer.

when she didn't give him one, his anger grew. "what the hell is going on with you?"

"what?"

"it's like...it's like i don't even know you anymore. you're staying up late, lashing out, breaking glasses, reading nana's books?" he listed off on his fingers. "this isn't you"

"then what is me?!" Kaitlin finally yelled. her eyes were red, hands shaking and lip quivering, she looked broken. "i don't know who i am, Kodin. So what makes you think you do?!"

this side to her scared him deeply, and he didn't know what to do to help her.

"i'm sick of everyone acting like they know what's best for me, 'do this Kaitlin, don't do this Kaitlin, be better Kaitlin'. it's bullshit!" she was livid, he felt it, and so did another person in the house.

Isaac stood at the bottom of the stairs, hearing the yelling, hearing and feeling the pain Kaitlin was enduring.

"i'll do what i want, so what if i break a few shitty glasses or read a few old books-"
