There's a dive bar in Daytona
With a couple names on a wall
Right between "Go Gators" and an old phone number
"For a good time, call"
There's a cornfield in Vidalia
With some BFGoodrich tracks
That old radio playin' "Copperhead Road"
'Til the sky turned black
That was us in a two-tone Chevy
Can't help but smile when I'm lookin' back now
Two kids tearin' up a little small town
Thought we had it all figured out
Runnin' wild like a Tennessee river
Little reckless and a little hellbound
We were tailgate talkin' 'bout forever
Like our boots had never hit the ground
And at the end of that trail of cans and a cloud of dust
Baby, that was us

"Okay now a woman will sing this part... will you?" He asked handing me a paper with the Lyrics

There's a worn-out track on a jukebox
An old Keith Whitley song
You spun me around that old dance floor
All night long
And a rope burn on an old oak tree
Hangin' high over Miller Creek
Lord, I was scared to death
But boy, you could talk me into anything
Yeah, you could

Then Riley picked back up
That was us in a two-tone Chevy
Can't help but smile when I'm lookin' back now
Two kids tearin' up a little small town
Thought we had it all figured out
Runnin' wild like a Tennessee river
Little reckless and a little hellbound
We were tailgate talkin' 'bout forever
Like our boots had never hit the ground
At the end of that trail of cans and a cloud of dust
Baby, that was us
Baby, that was us

That was us in a two-tone Chevy
Can't help but smile when I'm lookin' back now (mmm)
Two kids tearin' up a little small town
Thought we had it all figured out
Runnin' wild like a Tennessee river
Little reckless and a little hellbound
We were tailgate talkin' 'bout forever
Like our boots had never hit the ground
At the end of that trail of cans and a cloud of dust (yeah)
We left our mark on everything we touched
Baby, that was us (baby, that was us, mmm)
Baby, that was us

Riley never broke eye contact the whole time he sang.

"I love it." I said actually speechless knowing that song was about him and I
"It's about us" he said with a nervous smile
"I know. I was there" I giggled

"So really you like it?" He asked
"Yes riley I absolutely love it" I said giving him a hug as we stood up

"Let me go check the potatoes. Want another?" I said
He nodded

When I came back out with 2 more beers and a blanket it was getting dark.
On his back patio he has a big out door kitchen and a big stone fireplace with a tv and a outdoor section which is actually comfy.
" the potatoes like about 15 more minutes" I told him
"Steaks like about 10-12 more" he said
I walked over to the fireplace putting wood in a lighting it turning in the tv and sitting down to find something to watch....The elf was on the the grinch was coming on. 2 of our favorite Christmas movies.

"Steaks are done and in the microwave staying warm." Riley said getting under the covers with me putting his arm around my neck

"Okay. I have an alarm on my phone for the potatoes." I said snuggling close to him

5 minutes later my alarm went off. I didn't want to get up but I did. We both did,  we fixed our plates and went back out side covered and cuddled up infront of the fire and tv.

" I love lazy days like these. And cozy nights by the fire" Riley said

"Me too. Thank you for today. I really needed it. I've missed a good ole lazy day with my best friend in the beautiful state of Alabama. I've missed you" I said looking over at him.

After we watched both movies it was maybe 8:00 at night we weren't sleep... a bit tipsy.
"Ohhhh let's dance around the fire" I said fo Riley him knowing I love to dance.
"Okay let me put some music on" he said walking to the outside radio
