Chapter 10

Avery's p.o.v

well it is time for me to go back to New York, as much as I want to stay here with my family and friends I have school to get back to.

A few days ago, I called Josh and he told me to just spend time with my family and call him when I got home.

Arriving at my apartment in NY. I noticed that Josh's car was gone, it was 10:15 p.m. I called his phone.... not answer so I texted him and told him that I was home. I got my bags and got out of my car, unlocked my door, walked in and sat all of my stuff down.  I texted Riley and told him that I made it home safe.

I took a quick bath and went to bed.

The next morning, all of my classes were canceled not sure why but im not complaining. It was a dark nasty rainy day out in the big city so I just stayed in and got my laptop and decided to put in some applications for a job, we all know I need one, to have something to do around here.

After putting in 2 applications to restaurants and 3 applications to clothes and jewelry stores, I got a phone call from Josh.

A-Avery and J=Josh

A- hello?

J- hey. Uhm you call?

A- yeah i called last night when I got home, your car was gone. just calling to let you know im home

J- uh yeah I was at my brothers house last night. his wife is having a baby.

A-that's good. congratulations

J-i am about 2 hours away. I will be leaving soon

A- okay. well i'm here

B-alright. ill be there later. want to go out to eat tonight? on me.

A- yeah sure. im down.

I got an email back from a restaurant and clothing / jewelry store asking me to come in for an interview tomorrow. one at 10:00am and the other at 1:00pm

I went to my closet and found a nice looking outfit and laid it out so i wouldn't be in a rush tomorrow.

I did some laundry and a little online shopping for things for the house when my phone started ringing. Riley was face timing me.

A- Hey Ri

R-AVERYYYYYYYYYY

A- what? *i giggled*

R- I I I get to go on tour with muscadine bloodline!!!! Charlie and Gary!!!

A- No way! Yay im so excited and happy for you. I told you it would happen some day!

R- I just can not believe this is happening to me.

A- Do you know where yall are going and playing yet?

R- no but its just little venues and bars around the south i believe

A- well I know yall will have fun and before you get back home you will have thousands of fans and millions of teenage girls going crazy for you.

R- hahahahah ha ha yeah right

A- Riley you know im telling the truth.

R- will you promise me one thing?

A- depends on what it is. I mean you are gonna be the one with the money when you make it big

R- no Av. I want you to promise me that no matter how long im gone, or where I am, call me and text me and dont forget about me?

A- I promise, as long as you promise.

R- I promise Av. How's it going in the big city?

A- it's going. I have 2 job interviews tomorrow

R-you go girl! i miss you cant wait for you to come home for thanksgiving and Christmas

A- yep only 2 weeks!!

2 weeks later

Josh went home to his family and im on a plane headed to Alabama. The past 2 weeks have been okay, Josh and I are doing pretty good. I got both jobs and my scheduling works out perfect because when i am off at one i work at the other. They get of off for 2 months for thanksgiving and Christmas with my college schedule. I am so excited to be home for 2 months

*landed in Alabama*

I called Casey, Riley's sister because I wanted to surprise everyone because I am coming home earlier than planned and staying longer than planned.

I got off of the plane and was looking for Casey. Once I found her, I ran towards her and hugged her tight. She is the big sister I have always wanted but didn't have of my own.

"aAHHHHH I have missed you so so much. We all have." she said hugging me tight

"I have missed yall." i said as we walked to her truck where Karen *riley's mom* and rileys niece Nancy

"AVERY!!!" Nancy squilled

"hey there girly. Hey Karen. How are yall?" i got into the truck and buckled up

"Uncle Riley asks about you all the time" said 5 year old Nancy in a prissy way

"he does?" i asked feeling a funny feeling in my stomach

"i think he likes you" she said

"haha well I have been his best friend since we smaller than you are" i told her

she looked shocked "are yall going to get married?"

"oh goodness. i dont know. probably not but i dont know" We were almost to Karen's house which is across the road from mine

"where is Riley? I don't want him to see me until tonight. " i asked

"oh goodness I have no clue where he is. I'll call real quick." Karen said

Karen called Riley and put it on speaker

Riley- hey ma

Karen- hey Riley. what are you doing

Riley- I am headed home from Nashville. I should be home about 6 or 7.

Karen- alright. well ill see you then. be careful love you

Riley- will do mom. Love you too

"do you feel like going shopping Av? if you are tired we can go tomorrow. I need to get a few things to make for thanksgiving" Casey asked

"no girl im fine. lets go. i need to pick a few things as well" we dropped off Karen

Nancy, Casey and I went to get some groceries.
