Chapter 4

Josh's P.O.V.

I woke up with someone laying on my side. I looked around and realized i was in Avery's living room, she was laying on my right side cuddled close to me sleeping so peacefully i got my phone out of my pocket and checked the time. it was 7:00 our classes started at 8:15 so i decided to cook us some breakfast.

  While cooking breakfast i could not stop thinking about Avery, she is so perfect I have never been able to see myself with a "country girl" but I can see myself with Avery. I have only known her for 3 days and I honestly think i am falling for her, she is so sweet, smart, kind,caring, funny, and just an amazing person all around.

"whatcha doin" i heard a sweet southern drawl behind me. I turned around to see Avery standing there with her hair in a messy pony tail and her clothes from lastnight

"just making us some breakfast. if you want to get a shower or get ready, it should be done by then" i told her flipping the pancake

2 Months Later/ Avery's P.O.V.

"okay mom. love you too! and tell the Green's that i miss and love them" i said ending the call

"Are you ready Avery?" Josh asked as he walked up to me and kissed me on the head

"yes i am" i said as we walked to the door and i locked it walking out

we go into his car "soo are you gonna tell me where we are going?" i asked

"its a surprise. i cant tell you, but i know you will like it." he said sending me a wink

"uggh fine. but can i pick the music? Pleaseeeeee" i beggedu

"i guess." he said giving me the aux cord

I went to my Pandora app and played my Luke Bryan playlist singing along as Josh just smiled and laughed at me.

When we arrived at a park, then i realized that it was Central Park

"oh my gosh Josh, this is so pretty." i said looking around

"just wait" he said as he went to the trunk of his car getting a blanket and basket out.

We walked and walked still in the park but away from everyone on top of a hill He laid the blanket down and we sat down. He opened the basket and pulled out Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and grapes and strawberries. we sat there and talk and ate. I could tell he started to get a little nervous but i wasn't sure why.

Josh's P.O.V

Avery and I had been at the park talking eating and laughing for about an hour now i was getting a little nervous for what i was about to ask Avery. I looked down to get a strawberry when i looked up Avery was looking out over the park looking so beautiful. i finished the strawberry and wiped my mouth and hands off, then took a deep breathe.

"Avery" i said and she looked over at me smiling "I have known you for about 3 months now and i know this probably sounds cheesy but i have felt a connection since i brought you those cookies that night you moved in.  I am so glad that you moved in because i have found anew friend and i was wondering if we could be more than friends.... Avery will you be my girlfriend?"

"awe that was so sweet. and Yes i would LOVE to be your girlfriend." she said tackling me to the ground. I was laying on my back with her on top of me kissing me. We broke apart and both giggled

Then out of no where it started raining. we packed our stuff and ran back to my car, even soaking wet she looked so beautiful. I am so thankful to get to call her my girlfriend. Everything she does makes me fall in love with her even more.

"Josh. Why are you looking at me like that?" she giggled turning red

"because you are beautiful." i said kissing her cheek

Her phone started ringing "its mom" she said answering it

Avery's P.O.V.

Josh was looking at me for a while.

"Josh. Why are you looking at me like that?" i asked him

"becuase you are beautiful" he said kissing my cheek

just as my phone started ringing " its mom" i said answering it

Cassie is averys mom so C is for her

A-hello

C- Hey baby. How are you?

A-Hey mom, i am good how are you?

C- im making it. I miss you so much tho, im in the house with too many boys

A- haha i bet, im sorry mom, it wont be long until i will be back home for thanksgiving and then christmas and a few months after i will be done with school

C-i know! i cant wait baby girl.

A- me either mom, i miss yall so much

C- we all miss you so much. When was the last time you talked to Riley?

A- mom..

C-No Avery. Answer me. When was the last time you talked to him? 

A- i dont know... like 3 months ago?

C- well he isnt doing good. yall have been friends for so long. Do not ruin yalls friendship because you moved away for a year.

A- well mom, he was with a girl who told him that i was a skank and he didn't need to talk to people like me. So im making it easier on him

C- no honey. You are not making it easier for him. Riley has never drank and now he is out at clubs and parties coming home drunk all the time.

A- mom did you really just call me so you can dog me out about Riley?

C- maybe you need to rethink who you are. Being in New York is making you have a big head..........

the line went dead

"josh..do you think since i have been here that i have gotten a big head?" i asked him

"no baby. your mom is just upset and she misses you. she didn't mean what she said." he told me rubbing my thigh as we pulled into the parking lot of our apartments.
