Chapter 3 - A Plea for Help
Christopher
Christopher knew a cop named Hank Mills. Hank had solved a lot of cases and he was an honest cop. He decides to ask Hank Mills for help and then looks online for the officer's phone number. When he dials the number, a woman's voice can be heard on the other end. "The Mills residence," the woman greeted Christopher. "This is Christopher Singer. I need to speak to Hank Mills," Christopher requested. "This is Jennifer Mills, Hank's wife. I'm sorry, but my husband is out of town," Jennifer replied. "Well, do you know when he's coming back?" Christopher asks.
"I'm sorry but I don't. If you leave your phone number I'll make sure he calls you back," Jennifer offered. "Thank you," Christopher replied. Christopher gave Jennifer his phone number. Christopher did not know what to do, he needed enough evidence to win an appeal. Susan came walking into the kitchen. "Were you able to talk to Hank Mills?" Susan asks. "No, he's out of town," Christopher replied. "We need to find a way to prove my sister is innocent," Susan replied. "Trust me, Susan," Christopher says, "I'm going to do everything I can to get her out of there."
Hank
Hank was looking over some crime scene photos when Jennifer called him. "Hank, a man named Christopher Singer called and he wants to speak to you," Jennifer told Hank. "Did he say what he wanted to speak to me about?" Hank asks. "No, he didn't, but he did give me his phone number for you to call him back," Jennifer replied. Jennifer gave him Christopher's phone number. Hank then wonders what he wants. Hank taught a class and Christopher Singer was one of his students. He knew that Christopher had a law degree.
Hank calls Christopher. "Hello, this is Hank Mills. My wife told me that you called me," Hank inquiries. "I know you are busy working on another case, but my sister-in-law Dana Rollin was falsely accused of murdering her husband. Dana was found guilty and she was sent to prison," Christopher explained. "I heard about Dana Rollin. The police had a lot of evidence that she was guilty," Hank replied. "Dana was set up. She did not kill her husband!" Christopher replied angrily. "I believe you Christopher. I'm going to do what I can to help you, but I cannot make any promises," Hank told Christopher. "I understand," Christopher replied.
Willow
I called my dad. "I was thinking about what you said about me being a writer, and I'm going to try to write a story. I haven't decided if I am going to write a romance or a mystery story. I thought about writing them both to see which one I'm better at," I told my dad. "I know you are going to be a great writer. I could use your help. One of my students named Christopher Singer needs my help, but I can't help him. Christopher's sister-in-law Dana Rollin has been falsely accused of murdering her husband," Hank replied. "I heard about Dana Rollin on the news and a lot of people think she is innocent," I replied.
"Christopher was a great student and I trust his judgment," Hank replied. "I will be glad to help Dana," I agree. "Thank you. I can help you over the phone," Hank offered. My dad gave me Christopher's phone number. I wanted to do research online before I talked to Christopher. I saw that Dana's supporters have a social media page about her. I look up the information that supporters post on the social media page. The police already made their mind up that Dana was guilty and they did not look at other suspects. Some people believe that the police set up Dana to protect someone else.
