  Chapter 15 - A New Trial

Grady

John calls Grady. "I found the other jurors. They also had a lot of money in their checking account. The jurors that got paid were Brad Blackwell, Beth Green, Amy Cotton, and Eric Peterson. I already reported them to the IRS," John replied. "This is great! Christopher will be able to appeal Dana's case," Grady replied. Grady called Christopher and he told him about the four jurors who got a lot of money in their bank accounts. Christopher had enough evidence to get an appeal for Dana.

Christopher

Christopher was able to get Dana's appeal. Dana was happy because she knew that Christopher had enough evidence for the court to find her innocent. Dana was going to make the most of her life. Christopher got a court order to see the evidence. He could not believe how much evidence was kept from the trial. Christopher decided to go to the new judge, Roger North. Christopher told Judge North that evidence that would prove Dana's innocence was withheld by the court.

Judge North was angry with the prosecutor for keeping evidence from the court. Judge North wanted to speak to the prosecutor. "Judge North, the prosecutor was paid money to hide evidence and he also planted evidence against Dana. We cannot let the prosecutor get away with that. I want to have the prosecutor investigated," Christopher requested. "I will allow you to have the prosecutor investigated," Judge North agrees. Christopher calls John and he asks him to investigate the prosecutor.

Charles tells Christopher that Martin turned Cindy in to the IRS. The IRS was not going to take everything away from Cindy, but she had to pay taxes on the money she got. The IRS was going to allow Cindy to make payments.

It didn't take long for John to discover that the prosecutor Kenny Wilson was making a lot of money in his checking account. Also, John finds out that the police officer that was investigating George's murder also got a lot of money in his checking account. John also learned that Kenny Wilson's daughter had cancer. Kenny didn't make enough money to pay for the treatments. John tells Christopher what he found out about Kenny Wilson and the police officer.

Christopher went to see Kenny. "Kenny, I know you set up Dana and falsely accused her of a crime she did not commit. You hid the evidence that would prove her innocence, and you planned the evidence against Dana. You also kept witnesses from testifying on Dana's behalf. I know your daughter Jenny has cancer and you were paid to falsely accuse Dana of murder. Trust me, I empathize with your daughter, but you have no right to taint Dana's case! I am giving you a chance to walk away from this case or I will have you investigated!" Christopher threatens.

Kenny took himself off the case. Mark Patterson was prosecuting the case. Mark did not have enough evidence to prove that Dana committed the murder. Mark told Judge North that he was dropping the charges against Dana Rollin. Dana was released from prison. Christopher and Susan are planning a welcome home party for Dana. Dana was glad to be going home. Dana was surprised by the party that Christopher and Susan had for her. A lot of people came to the party. Grady and Willow are still in England. They both were still investigating Barbara Ross' murder.
