Chapter 11 - Twist My Words

Charles

The next day Martin calls Charles. "Hello, this is Martin Stewart. Is this Charles Evans?" Martin asks. "Yes, this is. Thank you for calling me back," Charles replied. "I was told that you needed to speak to me?" Martin questioned. "Yes, I do, I'm helping a friend investigate the murder of George Rollin. We don't believe his wife, Dana Rollin, killed him. Dana was having an affair with Adam Dashwood. I've been made aware that Adam's brother, Alex, was stalking Molly Greenwood. She told me that you were the only cop that believed her about Alex attacking her in her home," Charles explained.

"I wish I could have helped Molly more, but I couldn't arrest Alex without any evidence. Molly didn't see who attacked her. We can't just arrest someone based on theory. Do you think Alex or his brother killed George Rollin?" Martin asks. "No, they both have an alibi. We think that Alex and Adam's family members might have killed George to get revenge on Dana, but we don't know for sure. I do know that Alex was having an affair with his college teacher Barbara Ross. Barbara didn't want to see him anymore and he started stalking her. Her sister found Barbara dead and the police ruled her death a suicide," Charles replied. "Do you not believe her death was a suicide?" Martin asks.

"I don't know, but her sister Pam Brooks believes she was murdered. Pam thought the police didn't take their time to investigate her sister's death. The police just rushed to believe it was suicide," Charles explained. "Sounded like Alex and Adam were a bunch of Casanovas. Have you spoken with Alex or Adam?" Martin asks. "No, Adam tried to commit suicide ten years ago and he has been in a coma since. Alex was put in a mental hospital. We also think Alex and Adam's uncle is paying the police to be quiet about Alex and Adam's crimes," Charles replied.

"I heard about Alex and Adam's uncle, Jeremy Dashwood. I know Jeremy's son Sean Dashwood. Sean does not want anything to do with his dad," Martin replied. "Where does Sean live?" Charles asks. "He lives here in California," Martin replied. "I need to talk to him. I'm coming to California to talk to Sean," Charles replied. Charles calls Willow. "I found out that Alex and Adam have a cousin named Sean Dashwood who lives in California. I am going to California to talk to him to see what I can find out about Alex and Adam," Charles replied. "Please be careful," Willow pleaded. "You should be careful," Charles replied. Charles packs his bags and prepares to go to California.
