Namjoon's P.O.V.

~Flashback to the family meet~

"Don't work too hard son. Rest when you can and eat well."

"I will Appa. I promise."

He gives me a good firm father like hug.

"See you later. Take it easy, Smarty-pants."

"I'll miss you too, little sister."

I give her hug then she playfully punches me in the arm. We laugh.

My mother comes up to me and hugs me tight.

"She's a wonderful young women, my son."

"Thank you, Eomma. I'm glad you think so."

"I brought something for you." She whispers in my ear.

She pulls away from the hug and holds my hand with both of hers as she puts something in mine.

"She'd be a great addition to the family."

She leans up and kisses my forehead with my help leaning towards her.

"I love you, Namjoon-ah."

"I love you too, Eomma."

My family leaves and a bit after, so do we.

I get to my studio the day after.

I settle down in my chair and pull out what my mother gave me.

It was the engagement ring, my father gave her.

My father didn't have a lot back then. He saved as much as he could to buy my mother a single small diamond ring with a silver band. It was dainty.

It wasn't as extravagant as today's engagement rings but my mother loved it nonetheless.

I let out a big sigh. Staring at the ring.

"She'd be a great addition to the family."

My mother's voice was in my head all night.

I loved Y/n. No question. But it hasn't been half a year yet.

' I'll keep it here and sit on it. I'll know when the time comes.'

Y/n's P.O.V.

When we all got home, most of the guys crashed.

Jimin fell asleep a few minutes before everyone left. The group got a picture of him asleep and everyone gathering around. It was funny.

Joon was sitting next to me on the bed while I was going through emails.

"Hey! I gotta email to schedule an interview with the maknaes."

"That's great. They love you and Alex."

"They're so sweet. They're all going to be heartbreakers."

The next thing I know is that my laptop is being pulled from my lap.

Joon sets it down on the side table.

"What are you doing?"

He leans back towards me and hovers over me.

"I can be a heartbreaker."

He smirks then leans down to slowly kiss my cheek and trails down to my collarbone.

"You're a heartthrob now. Everyone wants to be with you."

"What about you?"

His kisses are sending tingles all throughout my body.

"What?" I say distractedly.

"Do you want to be with me?"

He stops what he's doing and looks me directly in my eyes.

The look he's giving me is nothing I have never seen before.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you too....Joonie what's going on?"

I roam my fingers through his hair and go to caress his cheek.

"I know we can't go public just yet and I'll admit that I was a bit jealous about that guy giving you his number.-"

"Namjoon, I'm not interested in anyone else but you."

He nods.

"I know that. It just bothers me that no one knows you're with someone."

He turns and sits up against the headboard of the bed. I sit up as well and he pulls me onto his lap to face him.

"We haven't been going out for that long but it feels like a long time. And I want people to know you're taken so.."

He leans towards his side table and opens the drawer to grab a small worn box.

"Would you wear this? It's not what you think it is. But in some way it is."

He opens it to show me the small ring.

"Kim Namjoon?"

"It's not what you think. It was my mom's. It's her engagement ring, but it's not what it stands for right now."

"What do you mean?"

"It stands for a promise. Not engagement."

"Oh."

My emotions calm down a bit once I understand what he's saying.

"Even though I can't show everyone the amazing woman I'm with, at least you can show that you are with someone who-"

"Who is just as amazing."

I nod.

"I'll wear it. I'll show everyone."

He smiles and takes the ring out of the box and slides in on my finger.

"It suits you." He says.

He gives me a teasing smile.

I playfully shove his shoulder.

"Stop. You said it wasn't for that."

We laugh lightly.

"Come here."

He places his hand on my cheek and we lean towards each other to connect our lips.
