She was at home, seated comfortably on the couch, eyes focused on the television.

A kiss was pressed on her temple and she smiled, leaning closer to the person who just kissed her.

She snuggled closer to the warm body, feeling light circles traced by slender fingertips on her arm.

She was at home with that which kept her warm. Guilt still danced on her fingertips and she could still taste it on the tip of her tongue. But she made her choice.

She was at home and she was making it up to him. She brought her body closer to his and he rested his head on hers as they watched a movie. It was quiet, serene, and peaceful. It was everything she wanted. But also, not everything.

Her palm was on his chest and she admired the shirt he wore. A campaign shirt that was given to him sometime in the previous months.

The campaign.

The rally.

Leni's birthday.

"Where were you last night?" She asked, voice full of inquisitiveness.

Recalling last night's events in her head, she didn't see him even once. She remembered being dizzy in the function hall, her drunkenness yet to kick in, scrolling on her phone and seeing his post about being in the birthday rally.

He was there.

But she didn't know he was there.

"Sorry, I had to leave early. You know my schedule pabalik sa province was early kanina, right?" He replied, not even sparing her a glance.

"Yeah, alam ko. But you didn't even say hi to me."

"You know I don't mean it like that. The program was still ongoing when I left so I decided not to bother you."

His hand was on her arm as if soothing her and easing her worries. When she didn't reply immediately, he turned to her and gave a cheeky smile. "Gutom ka na? Ako oo. Tara, let's order. What do you want?"

Risa paid no attention to his question. She sat up straighter, leaving her comfortable position earlier to look straight into his eyes and get him to focus on the issue at hand.

"You could've at least waved to me, you know? May picture nga kayo ni Leni kagabi pero ako hindi ko man lang alam na nando'n ka. Even a text would have been enough."

"Do you want Thai food? Chinese food? Ay, parang gusto ko ng sushi..." He was scrolling on his phone, looking at options to order food from.

"Lucas," she stated firmly. He stopped scrolling, finally returning her gaze. "Pwede bang kausapin mo ako nang maayos? I'm asking you a question here."

He put his phone down the coffee table. "What, Hon? I already said I was sorry. Didn't you hear me?"

"Narinig ko. I was just curious kaya I'm asking you."

"Well, stop being curious and let's order food na. Okay?"

Risa nodded swiftly, wanting to drop the conversation because she knew he wasn't going to listen either way. Her patience was running thin and she really did not want to argue anymore so she opted to keep her mouth shut.
