CH 2 : Better (ENG)

Apo frozen. He knew that face very well. Still the same, as 8 years ago. Charming, even more than before. And his voice, the most melodious voice, when he is calling his name or saying the word love in his ear.

But it was just a feeling in the past. Right now, when he saw this man standing here in front of him, the emotion that left in his heart just an anger. Although, he couldn't deny that the feeling was still there. The same feeling, when they first met as seniors and juniors in the same faculty at that time.

"You guys... already know each other?" Bas nudged Apo's arm, while the two men still looked at each other in silence. Both of them seemed to freeze in their own places, without knowing what to do or how to react.

"Daddyyyy..." Little Barcode, still whining while tugging at his father's hand, Made Mile wake up from his daydream. "You said you want to eat, right? Then why are you still standing here? Let's eat Dad, I'm hungry," said his son again.

Mile smiled slightly, nodding. Mile and Barcode then walked closer, approaching Apo, Bas and Job's table. Apo, who saw the man approaching towards him, reflexively took a few steps backwards.

"Po?" Bas frowned in confusion at Apo's reaction. "Are you okay?"

"B-Bas... Job, sorry, but I have to go now." Apo suddenly said.

"Oh, Po? But-,"

"Sorry, I forgot, I have an urgent business. I really have to go now."

"Po, can we talk for a minute?" Mile who saw Apo trying to avoid him, tried to persuade him.

Apo scowled disapprovingly, "With all due respect, sir." he said. "But I have nothing to do with you. And about the job... I'm sorry, but I changed my mind. I can't be your son's nanny. Excuse me."

Apo then bowed to Mile before he quickly walked away from there. Mile, who saw Apo's reaction, only stay silent while squeezing his aching chest a little. To be honest, he wasn't surprised by Apo's attitude. He knew very well why Apo was behaving like this to him. Apo must have hated him, after all the bad things he had done to that man 8 years ago.

"Po..." When Apo walked past him, Mile grabbed Apo's arm, trying to stop him from leaving. However, his efforts were not successful. As if he didn't care, Apo immediately pulled his hand which was being held by Mile, roughly, then hurriedly ran away from there.

Mile took a deep breath.

"Let him go, Mile." Job said later.

"Give him some time." Bass replied.

Mile forcefully, nodded his head. However, he still couldn't take his eyes off of Apo's back which was getting furthis away. He got a mixed feelings. Happy, angry, sad, disappointed, feeling guilty, all mixed into one. Mile never thought that the day he would meet with the man he loved would come. He thought, he could fix everything. But apparently, the wound he inscribed in Apo's heart was too deep.

"Daddy, you want to give me another nanny?" Barcode, who heard all the chatter of the adults around him, then pouted while puffing his cheeks cutely. "Dad, I told you I don't want a new nanny! I want Daddy! Don't want anyone else!"

Mile smiled slightly, while stroking the son's black hair, "Yeah, alright, baby. I won't give you a nanny anymore. Now, let's eat. You're hungry, right?"

Mile and Barcode then sat beside Job and Bas, who still looked confused by everything that had happened between Mile and Apo. But they don't want to discuss it first, especially in front of Barcode. They didn't want the little boy to get confused and wonder about this later. Job thought, he would talk to Mile about this when they had some alone time.
