Chapter 13.

In her room, every other person was talking in hushed tones except the youngest, Tyler, who felt out of place to be trying to get into the conversation of people much more older than him and Aunt Rosa who was just looking out the window and meditating on something.

"Hey guys." Nel breathed and Alexis was first to jump to her feet.

"Nel! You're okay." She hugged Nel tight with relief. Nel was surprised but she was also thankful that Lexi didn't spite her too much.

"What happened that the other three left behind you like bodyguards?" Miley stood to ask and Nel deadpanned.

B - O - D - Y - G - U - A - R - D - S???????

Nel wasn't able to process anything she just said for some reason unknown to her.
"Just go downstairs to eat. I, Kane and Grandma will be down in a sec."...

"You can ask her when you want. Nothing wrong will happen to her, Kane." Grandma said and Nel opened the door. Yolanda was already standing and Kane was leaning on the wall with folded arms and looking the direction of the door plainly, the kind of look he gives when he has hidden something successfully. But when he realized it was her, he froze. She didn't know what that was all about but she walked closer to them.

"It's like he healed you real quick. You look younger." Nel commented and smiled at her grandma. Then she turned to Kane whose demeanor didn't change after realizing that she was okay. It hurt a little but he wasn't her priority at the moment.

"We have to go down to eat. The food's getting cold." She said to him, sparing him one quick glance before following her grandma out the door.

"How are you feeling?" Kane caught up with her and they walked in sync. then she looked up at him. His face held no emotions but inside, he looked disturbed.

"I'm feeling okay." Nel said reassuringly and held his hand. "And besides, Xavier's got my back." She said without thinking and he choked on air. She pressed her lips together, realizing the gravity of what she had just said. Kane decided not to comment on it.

"Why do you think Luka came? And he didn't get killed?" Kane thought hard about it but didn't form an answer yet.

"I really don't know but I think he's planning something." She said and creased her brows. Nothing good comes her way when Luka's involved.

In the dining room...
"Oh Luka. How was the trip to Dubai your family went on three months ago. That was the last time I was able to reach you." Yolanda started a conversation with Luka after everyone had settled down. Luka sat opposite her between Nel and Kane, but Nel sat next to Xavi, so the atmosphere was tense.

"Wow, Grandma Yolly. You even remembered. Well, it went well. Mother was reluctant to go to the Disney land, but when she got there she was everywhere." Luka said and chuckled, giving her one of his brightest smiles. Nel knew it was all fake and felt like punching his guts for deceiving her grandmother.

'You might wanna calm down. I won't let him do anything.' Xavi said in her head and she didn't bother looking at him. She just nodded and stuffed her mouth with food in embarrassment. Xavier chuckled and smiled at her.

The whole meal went with only Grandma and Luka discussing Luka's great journey. The atmosphere was soo boring and utterly unlivable for Nellyda that she stood up with her food and went out the dining, avoiding all the eyes and most especially the worried look on Xavi's face. She preferred to eat in the kitchen than listen to their boring chit-chat. She'd have enough time to plan on how to escape from this place, from Xavier. But now she thought of it, she couldn't leave her family and friends behind. She needed to leave with at least one person so they could come back for the others.
