"It's two 'O' clock, grandma. Do we have to wait for Muzan to break into the house?" Alexis groaned as she lay sprawled on the floor of the living room.

Yolanda sat on a lone couch deep in thought. Xavier had never come late for anything. Be it relating to the human world or the demon realm. And this time, he's not even showing up. He would have probably gone looking for them but was it so important? Did he really not want to check on anything here?

"You all should go and start eating. I'll be there right after." She tapped her fingers on the arm of the couch as she spoke. They all looked at themselves before proceeding to go to the dining room.

Once everyone left, she stood to go to the front door. She wanted to see if he cast a spell on the house and the street and if she could break through. She opened the door and tried putting her hand outside but she was met with an invisible wall that sounded hollow when it was touched.

The spell seemed too strong, given the anger he had when he left her house. Plus, she felt like her energies were deteriorating, like it was slowly transferring to him. All she had now to fight him was skills and brains; which was not too sufficient. Xavier was getting smarter and stronger. She needed an ally.

Nel and Kane sat in the living room eating popcorn and playing online games out of boredom. It was their twenty ninth round of COD when Nel dropped her game pad and groaned.

"I quit. Kane, get killed or kill the freak. I'm bored outta my mind." She slurred and cursed the ceiling for being so white.

It was two o clock and there was nothing else to do in Martha's apartment than to play games. And there was nothing to cook so they just microwaved the popcorn.

"I'm bored too." He said and moved his character to an open area to get shot before he went offline. They sat facing eachother, thinking of what to do next. Kane did most of the thinking while Nel thought of what would be happening to the others back in Yolanda's house.

"I've got my credit card. Let's go eat something that isn't popcorn." Kane said and bounced off the couch to have a bath and wear something.

"Kane," She called him. He stopped and skipped back to bounce on the couch.

"Yeah?" He leaned in and batted his lashes.

"What do you think... Xavier would do to them?" Nel asked and looked away, avoiding the annoyed look he was giving her. But that did not match up to the boiling anger inside him.

Xavier. That name sounded like poison to his ears. If he and Nel were already in a relationship, then maybe he wouldn't be hearing that name everyday. She would forget about Xavier and focus on him. It sounded perfect.

After thinking about all that, his looked softened. He was going to act, and that too today. He smiled and scooted closer to her. Then he took her hands. Nel widened her eyes. What the hell has gotten into him to smile just now?

"I promise they're doing just fine. If Xavier wants to uphold his side of the promise, he'll never lay a finger on them." He looked deeply into her eyes and she was instantly drawn to them. But something in her was telling her that the way he looked at her was not genuine.

She looked away from him and took her hand away. Kane pursed his lips as he was slightly angry.

I wonder if she's that angry.

"I understand." She said with a blank face. She wasn't going to let a stupid crush weaken her. Not now that she was on a hunt for answers.
