"Say what now?" Martha's eye balls literally popped out of their sockets.
They were all back in M.K's apartment and Nellyda was explaining the most bizarre plan Martha had ever heard in her entire life yet.

"I really need to go see dad, Martha. Maybe I could get info on the trafficker. The girl there told me all she knows. She said father knows him and if I really need to get that guy arrested, then I'll need to know more." Nel explained further.

"What if that man tries to hurt you? What do you think I and mother will do to ourselves?" Martha kept her shocked expression. Nel's decision seemed to rash to Martha but she was unaware of her other rash decisions like getting closer to her so called kidnapper who happened to be the demon king.

"M.K, please. I'll take Kane with me and I won't get to close to him. M.K, please let me go." Nellyda coerced her sister a little more, hoping she would agree. Not like if she wouldn't agree she wouldn't go.
Martha looked over at Kane like he was a scrawny long bag of bones whereas he was actually properly built for his age. Maybe a bit too much.

"If you get in trouble, call me." Martha gave Kane a very dangerous look and nodded before hugging her sister tight.

Kane looked at her intently. Of course he couldn't let anything happen to her. His 'great confession' that day would be meaningless if he let her get hurt.

"And I have another thing to say." Nel pulled away from the hug.

"What now? You what me to give my consent for you falling in love with a heinous demon?" Martha scoffed and joked. Nel deadpanned and Kane got sick of hearing that word 'demon' from another person's lips.
Nel gave her sister a wry smile.

I was actually planning on talking about a demon previously.

Only that he isn't heinous,

He's the demon king,

And I'm not 'exactly' in love with him.

"Yeah. I wanted your consent on something relating to that." Nel pursed her lips and went back to where she sat with Kane. Martha widened her eyes. Had Nel gone insane? But her eyes widened even more when she hooked her arm with Kane's. Both Kane and Martha were shocked.

"Both of us are dating now and I would like it if you give us a go to make it official. Right, Kane?" Nellyda smiled up at him sweetly, like she was in love. She did it so well that Kane got all the more shocked.
She hadn't given him an answer back then so he thought she was just being polite not to say anything. But now, he felt releif.

"Yes, baby." He smiled back. Nel raised a brow. Before, he was so embarrassed when he unknowingly called her spicy. And now he was boldly, knowing my calling her his baby? Nel wanted to laugh.

"Why are you asking me? I'm only glad I didn't have to find out myself. I even think I had a hunch." Martha felt like a cool mom letting her seventeen year old daughter engage in underage clubing and drinking.

"And you know, I'm happy for you two." Martha beamed and gave them kisses in the air.
Nel smiled warmly. It was going to last, but for as long as she wanted it to.

Xavier got back to the street late in the night feeling unaccomplished. He had wasted a whole day without finding Nel. Even though she felt so close at some point, he just couldn't see her.

He found his way back to Yolanda's house and found her sitting on the couch in the living room.

"Lunch was served a long time ago. Go eat the leftovers." Yolanda chuckled at his defeated demeanor.

"What did you tell her about me?" Xavier asked calmly. His calm composure didn't even glitch hearing her belittle him. And food? That was the least of his worries.

"What does that have to do with your search?" She raised a brow and leaned foward.

"Just answer the goddamn question, Yola." He slammed his fists into the wall, breathing like a deranged dragon. He was already pissed and she's trying to play dumb?
He swore he would have killed her right there but they both knew he couldn't for an obvious reason.

"Soo insistent." She snickered and heaved an easy sigh.
"Well, I told her half truth. I told her you got into an accident." She said plainly as she crossed her legs, still looking up at him.

"That's half. What else did you tell her?" Xavier was calm again. At least that wouldn't let a thread loose in their relationship.

"I told her your father and hers were friends." She said plainly and took a small cup from the low table in front of her. Xavier widened his eyes when he noticed that the content was blood. What ever they were talking about didn't make meaning anymore when he saw it.

"You're losing power, Your Highness." Xavier panicked for a second, like the times he was her guard.

"No. It's slowly transferring to you." She said and sipped on the crimson liquid, grimacing at the taste. She hadn't tasted it in a long time, since her husband was king.

"What?" Xavier deadpanned. This was the hilt. This demon shit and all was making him go crazy.

"You don't care, Xavier. And I will warn you, threaten you. Stay away from my granddaughter. If you don't, with or without my energies, I will end your reign." She slammed the cup down in the table with a smooth aura of anger. Her eyes were already burning red and she gave him a sinister smile. But nothing moved Xavier. All he could do was smile. A very faraway smile.

"I think the threat came too late, Yolanda. I'm never letting her go, even if I have to fight you to get her. It's a pledge." He said and clicked his tongue. Yolanda's eyes were now pale gold and couldn't go any further cuz of the loss of power.
She was in front of him in the blink of an eye with a knife up his throat.

"Again Xavier Royale. I am warning you. My granddaughter does not deserve a murderer like you. Stay away from her." She pressed it to his neck enough to draw blood. But the pain and the warning wasn't even getting to his head. He was still smiling and it angered her even more. He wouldn't budge!

"Doesn't deserve?... Yolanda, you are also aware of my immense affection for Nel, am I right? I still have the courage to say it. I love Nellyda. And I won't stop looking for her even if I have to do it my whole life." He said dramatically and looked down hard at the woman in front if him. He was really controlling himself. He wouldn't kill her. He just had to hang on a bit longer.

Yolanda withdrew her knife and stared at him in disbelief. This new found 'affection' he had for Nel was going to leave an unsettling pit in her stomach. She stepped away from him and let out a small, dry laugh.

"And you think I'll let that happen?" She said in a really sinister tone as she was finally drained of the rest of the extra power she possessed as queen. Now left as a normal royal.

"You don't have a choice." He said as he pushed the separated skin together to heal and cleaned off the blood with a handkerchief, the blood a sharp contrast to the pure white cotton. Then he looked up at her piercingly.

"Are you aware Luka's a vampire?" He spoke abruptly as he tilted his head and pursed his lips.
Yola widened her eyes.

"What?!" She stood up straight and creased her brows. What the hell? How didn't she know?!

Xavier saluted her as he opened the door. Then he broke through the transparent barrier and leapt away.
