"...And Luka isn't human." He completed. Just then, Nel shot her head up. Kane wanted to make things clear to her but he ended up adding to her confusion.

"What do you mean Luka isn't human?" She creased her brows in confusion and annoyance.

Is Luka a demon too?

Right now, she felt faint. She needed a very long break from all of this. But if she did go on a break, she'd come back to meet these problems again and she won't be able to handle it like she is now.

Kane was silent. If he started analyzing things now, it might get her worried even more. But anyways...

"You were aware someone died last night, right? And you knew the person was on this street. How did you feel when you woke up this morning? Angry?" He was carefully getting his thoughts together. He didn't think Luka was a demon but he knew he wasn't human. Xavier wouldn't have attempted to kill a demon cuz he was one.

Nel simply shook her head. She felt lighter than the previous day, like the weight of the person who had been killed had been lifted from her.

"It was like the person... came back to life." She creased her brows even more. She wasn't angry with Xavier anymore. And she wondered what that person's death had to do with Luka.

"Don't you think Xavier would have tried to kill Luka knowing he wasn't a demon. He was meant to be dead if he wasn't human... And Xavier wouldn't have come with anyone if he wasn't coerced. I feel that Luka was the one who was killed but didn't actually die." Kane put the pieces he had put together earlier on again in front of her. Nel stopped creasing her brows.

He was pale.

His lips were blue.

And he was freezing cold.

"Kane... So then, what is he?" She breathed in shock. It was obvious that something was wrong with Luka but she couldn't think this far. She wouldn't have thought this far.

"I don't know, Nel. I don't know." He said with a defeated sigh. He also was tired of thinking. He hadn't even thought as hard as this for a calculus test.

"You can just dive into the We Channel or Wattpad realm to take your mind off them." He stood up to get her phone and air pods. Nel creased her brows again, more in shock than confusion.

"How do you know I watch We Channel?" She slowly took them from him with her eyes fixed on his face. This was getting soo awkward for Nel. She never actually spoke to Kane. Only Miley did, and she wasn't even aware that she was into We Channel. She never told him her birthday, she never told him a story for him to know she's a bad story teller, and most especially... the fact that she's overly obsessed with Wattpad and We Channel.

Kane knew he had messed up a third time in two days about the fact that he hacked into her Vista and Acebook accounts. He wasn't going to let her know about that. So he used the easiest thought up lie.

"Uhh... Miley told me about your obsession with We Channel and..."

"Miley knows nothing about my obsession with We Chanel. How do you know?" Nel cut him off. She knew something was wrong and she knew he was lying. In fact, she heard his thoughts... again!

"You're that guy that hacked into my Acebook and Vista account back in high school, right?" Nel was giddy in a kind of weird way. Happy and confused. She was happy because Kane of all the guys in the world wanted to know about her that he had to go to the extreme and confused cuz... why didn't he just ask her if he wanted to know? Was it necessary to hack into her accounts?

He was busted. He thought he was so smart and so good with cover-up lies but he was dramatically mistaken. He was still thankful for not having a reason to tell petty lies anymore.
