Xavier opened every door before going to her room, willing that her face was the last he saw before he slept, to see her longer, to be with her.

Nel looked up from her phone and squinted. Was she seeing right? He was smiling? At her?

but I stabbed you some hours ago...

Nellyda was taken aback. She thought there was another thing to his smile but she was wrong. He was actually smiling at her. A genuine smile.

"Evening." She dropped her phone beside her on the bed and placed her hands on her laps.

It was like Xavier was hypnotized. He just stood there staring at her and lost in nothing in particular. His heart was beating so fast and he was unbelievably nervous. At least he wasn't smiling like an idiot. He inwardly jumped for joy. She wasn't afraid of him anymore.

"Good evening." Nellyda noticed his hesitation. Maybe he didn't hear her or maybe she didn't add the 'good'.
Hearing her again, He snapped back to the present.

"Yeah, evening." He said abruptly and shut the door. He felt so embarrassed after zoning out in front of her. he pulled hard at his hair as his punishment for not being composed at a time like this.

"I believe you're on patrol. You can go now. Kane's having a bath." Nel picked her phone again to finish up the last chapter of 'Elomas 400' by JUST_KING69.

"You guys are impossible." I said standing up to stomp out of the shade when I saw three girls crawl out the pool. They had devilish red eyes, burnt bodies and black ripped clothes.
"Leave your last..."

She continued to read until Xavier called her name.

"Yes," She raised her head surprised that he was still there. She was already lost in the world of Wattpad that she didn't realize that he had called her a second time.

"May... may I sit?" He pointed down at a corner of her bed nervously before letting his hand fall limp beside him.
They both didn't understand what was wrong with him all of a sudden. He was just different from how beastly he was that afternoon.
Nellyda looked up and slowly nodded before he sat down.

He looked at her for a very long time, dreaming of how things would have been if he was still human. He wouldn't have met her. He would have still been the Xavier attending boring classes, living alone and not having problems to do with any half demon or demon like Yolanda.

"How do you think I would have been if I was still human?" He blurted and didn't think of what he was saying until Nel raised her head from her phone and raised both her brows.

Xavi internally cursed. He knew he just said something stupid and she heard him. She heard him!

"What did you say? I wasn't listening." She blinked and finally put her phone down. She needed to stop being so attached to books before she would get to the extent of sitting in a burning room and not know until the fire licks her skin.

Xavier inhaled and thanked the Lord that she didn't hear him cuz if not, he wouldn't know how to look at her face.

"Uhh, I... I only asked... what you were doing." He gulped hard and couldn't sweat. Nellyda only saw his face without expressions and nothing more. But deep down, she could see joy and nervousness in his eyes.

"I'm reading an online book since I can't watch a movie in a cinema outside my house." She taunted and got back to what she was doing. She wasn't ready for useless questions.
The way she emphasized the 'outside' stung him a little but he decided to overlook.

"Ink it, Amazon, Wattpad?" He said looking at her with that I was human before, you know? face.

Why can't you just simply answer me like I mean something?
