"You can go ahead. I don't want Martha giving me a lecture with questions at the end." He looked blankly at the crowd and then scanned the place, subconsciously looking for Nel.

"Are you sure?" Gerald looked at him and raised a brow. This was the second thing Xavier had said to him that day. It was such a releif.

Xavier just looked at him and moved backwards to lean on the wall. Gerald felt like he was moving to fall from a roof.

"I'll be right here when you need me." He said and took out his phone. Gerald pursed his lips thoughtfully and looked around. Then spotted Martha and her sister.

"And I'll be right there when you need me." Gerald clicked his tongue with a cheeky smile and went for the bar. Xavier looked up to see where he was so enthusiastic on heading to and tsked.

Looks like I'll be checking out for a drunk tonight.

He looked back down at his phone. But he abruptly looked up, this time in shock. His eyes had a tiny glitter to them. Hope walked back into him with more energy. And he started slowly with a small smile of releif. Finally.

I've found you.

... ... ...

They took the elevator since she was wearing heels and it was faster. Then they stopped at the last floor and took the stairs to the roof.

"Why did you go all the way here in the span of five minuites?" She looked at him with creased brows. The property wasn't even his and he was already scouting to the extent of the rooftop.
He just shrugged with a small smile.

"Elena's my sister." He broke the news and Nel berated herself for thinking so badly of him to that extent. How many more siblings did he have?

"Oh." Was all she could pop out as he opened the door and they both walked out. They walked to the edge of the roof and Kane sat down and let out his hand to help her to sit too.

"See that? It looks like a constellation of lights instead of stars." He pointed up front. And he was right. It looked like Captain America's freaking shield.
Then she looked to another side.

"That one looks like a white fluffy dog." She giggled at her wonderful intuition with a sigh, still looking over the city. It was really beautiful. How could a black hat hacker like Kane be really sweet? Maybe she had underrated him too much.

"How about this one?" He said and raised something really shiny that instantly caught her attention. Nel paused and stared at it with wide eyes. It was a gold chain with her name imprinted on the gold heart pendant.

"K-Kane. You didn't have to." She gasped and reluctantly took it from him with a wide grin. It was perfect. She's wanted something like this for so long. But from Kane...

"Any thing for you. Happy birthday, babe." He said, admiring her beautiful face. He swore he could do that the whole night. Who wouldn't? This was Nellyda King.
He leaned in on impulse and kissed her cheek and Nel paused. Then she looked up at him with a dark tint on her cheek that didn't match the annoyance inside her.
Maybe Kane's lips just made contact with a part of her skin and maybe she liked that but she didn't want it. She preferred to be kidnapped by Xavier instead to live in fear.

Xavier...

She dismissed the thought and gave him a big smile. Then she swung her arms round his neck.

"Thank you so much, Kane." She half whispered and they stayed like that for a short while before his phone rang, startling them. Thankfully for Nellyda, she didn't have to fake it much longer.

"Sorry. I'll be right back." He said with a sheepish smile. She nodded before he stood and walked away.

She went back to admiring the city lights and taking in the feel of the cool breeze on her skin, the fresh air from where she was, above the city. It was like heaven.
But there was a particular scent lingering in the air. It was faint but became stronger and stronger as she felt someone's prescence. The scent was an oddly familiar intoxicating scent. The scent of fresh flowers... Fresh lilies!

Before she could turn around, a damp, scented cloth was pressed to her nose and mouth and all she could breath in was the toxicated scent.

"I'm really sorry." A voice said in her head as she struggled then slumped and slowly blacked out. Her wish was granted, to be kidnapped by Xavier Royale.

He couldn't pull himself together. It was unlike him to act on impulse but this was the only thing he could think of to do.

The liquid was meant to erase memory of minutes before it is smelt and causes a deep slumber. But it didn't affect demons to the extent of erasing their memory. So he didn't feel guilty about using it on her. What he felt guilty about was still wanting her with him and abducting her to pursue that.

He hopped down from the building with her cradled in his arms and then looked around. Everyone was inside the building and it was six. He thought of taking Gerald's car but he would ask questions. So he decided to run. It was faster running cuz he didn't need to wait for traffic. That was his lame excuse to hide his besotteness.

He looked down at her from time to time to see if she looked even the least uncomfortable. But she was sleeping so peacefully. He smiled at her face and looked back up to focus on the road.

Soon, he was in the 'big house'. He struggled to open the door and then, he laid her down on the couch. He couldn't believe it. He was able to find her and was able to take her with him. She with him. That's all he wanted.

He knelt beside her and rested his head on the arm rest to look at her. He slowly tucked strands of her hair behind and smiled.

"I'll never let you go." He whispered, sealing that promise with a kiss to her forehead. Then he widened his eyes. He didn't know why he did that. But it felt right so he couldn't regret it. It was literally the best thing he had done since like years.

He stood up abruptly. He couldn't let her sleep on the couch so he carried her to his room since Benji's room is unkempt and the other rooms were dusty.
He didn't know if to sit and wait for her to wake up or go back downstairs to lay on the couch. He didn't know how much of the scent dew he poured on the cloth and he was scared she wasn't ever going to wake up. So much for his impulsive reaction.

After much deliberation, he reluctantly stood to leave but then he heard a bing. Then he saw something glow in her pocket. Her phone. He slid it out of her pockets without touching her to avoid possibly waking her up in a suspicious way. Then he swiped up as per the android's instructions. And the phone didn't have a password. Not surprising. But then...

It was a message. From M.K?

M.K?

Martha?

'Hey, Nel. Where are you? Kane is worried.' The message read. It turned out that M.K is Nel's sister after all. Xavier felt like smashing the phone when he saw 'Kane'. It was like 'Muzan' to his ears.

He needed to reply. Or rather, Nel needed to reply. He looked at her once and pursed his lips.

Sorry. Again.

Then he typed something and sent.

'Something urgent came up so I had to leave. I might not be back any time soon.'
