"You slept in Nellyda. Did that demon cast a spell on you?" Kane spoke nonchalantly, throwing a shirt on and going to the mirror to arrange his hair.

"What do you mean I slept in? Has he come already?" Nel creased her brows and looked at him.

"Yah. He did. Smiling down at your sleeping face." He said grumpily and pulled the curtains aside to let in the light.
Nel raised a brow for clarification. Kane stopped moving and sighed.

"He asked about you and I told him you were sleeping. He just pushed past me and came in, smiling at your face until he creased his brows at your grandmother, nodded at her, gave orders and walked out." He rambled and fake smiled. Nel pursed her lips.

"Why would he do that?" She lay back on the bed and asked the ceiling. Kane kept silent and sat down, focused on picking his nails.
Nel gave a thought to what he said and gasped.

"Maybe he has some kind of connection with grandma!" She said and bounced off her bed, bolted to the door and broke into Yolanda's room.

"Grandmother. We have to talk." Nel stormed into the room chest rising at a rapid rate.
Yolanda and Rosa stopped what they were doing and stared at Nel at the door.

Yolanda's thoughts ran a million miles per second as she looked at her granddaughter's serious face.

Did she find out already?

What did Xavier do to her in her sleep?

After seconds of silence, Yolanda spoke up.
"Rosa, will you please excuse us? It won't take long." Yolanda urged the woman to go somewhere else. Even though it was inconveniencing, Rosa nodded and left. Once the door was shut, Nel walked closer to her grandmother who patted a spot next to her for her to sit.

"What is it, dear?" Yolanda said almost immediately as Nel sat down with that I need answers look.

"Grandma. What connection do you have with Xavier?" Nel threw the question immediately. She didn't see the point in beating about the bush. All she wanted was sincere answers to her questions.
Yolanda's breath hitched. What was she supposed to tell this overly inquisitive child? Lucky for her, a lie popped into her head.

"He's the son of your father's friend. Xavier was made a demon by accident." She stopped there cuz saying more might trigger just more than enough questions she wouldn't like to answer. She didn't like the subject at all.

"The son of father's friend?" She murmured, trying to make sense of what she was just told. But she was even more confused. What was that information going to do for her?

"Do you know more, grandma?" She asked desperately in hopes of clarifying her doubts.
Yolanda felt bad for lying to her, so she decided to tell part the truth.

"All I know is he had an accident and came back alive just like that." She made it short and simple.
Nel's expression changed completely. Her brain finally decided to work.

But why did the demon Lord choose him?

Yola heard it but she knew it was best not to answer. Meanwhile, Nel thought she wouldn't have and answer for that.

She stood in defeat, thinking she had gained all the information she could because only Yola was able to relate on eye to eye terms with Xavier as far as she knew. It felt a little disappointing.

"Thank you Gramdma." She nodded and left the room. Rosa was standing right outside the door. She didn't look calm and composed but she kept her cool.

"Sorry for the inconvenience." Nel said and walked slowly back to her room.
