It was hard to figure out just how cold it could get within the mountain ranges that were out here in these lands; Ban-Ur was a land which was full of ice and snow, the summer was still cold, and the winters were doubly cold, Nureka was used to the cold, but like the serious cold which didn't have a hint of warmth promising to appear. Nothing in her mind could compare with the cold of her homeland. She was purely basing this on the fact that, despite originally coming from mountain ranges too, that Kotallo's gear didn't seem to be enforced with furs of any sort. Sure, he seemed predominantly based within the Grove, and even from one trip there, Nureka could say fur was a definite, firm no. So it could be that had to be adapted to wherever he dwelt, she didn't know.
However, she did know she was dressing for the occasion, being cold ran more risks than being hot; though both were dangerous with long exposure and without the correct equipment, but the cold could lead to serious problems. Like most armour of her people, Nureka was more than able to situate it over the fur lined coat which she had bought with her, her helmet too could sit quite comfortably over her hood. For the first time in a long time her very winter-based clothes would actually come in useful, her boots predominantly were probably going to be actually the best thing about this trip to the base.
Aloy had contacted not that long ago, and though the base wasn't hugely a great distance away, it was long enough that the pair needed to head out as soon as possible. It was perhaps another half a day's trek, pushing it a little more if the weather really started to close in when they neared the snowy capped mountains. She for one was excited, and that much was evident as she seemed more than eager to just rush off...perhaps almost heading in the wrong direction, but that was a minor issue which was quickly resolved by Kotallo.
He didn't match her excitement; he was going into this mission with some reservations. It wasn't, after all, a hundred percent guarantee that the parts they needed were at the base. Gaia had predicted there could be things they'd need and could use, but even she still couldn't say if it was a sure thing those parts would be there. This was more of a treasure hunt for possible treasure than a treasure hunt that was going to end up with a bountiful horde. Though Kotallo was going to pitch a guess and presume that Nureka's excitement was half exploring, and half succeeding in finding what they needed.
She did look very excited, and that was evident enough from the rather chuffed smile on her face. She really did get cabin fever, it seemed. But then it wasn't like he didn't understand, from having a whole land to explore and do as anyone wished, to then being in a base, it was a change. Yes, it wasn't like they were prisoners, they could leave, but leaving would risk being away if needed. It was a thin line to walk. Perhaps he was wrong, her excitement may not have been so easily split, perhaps a small percentage was also for finally being able to make his arm...Kotallo tilted his head in thought, he was now just going to say that Nureka was excited about everything that was happening, and what could happen from this, it was much easier that way, so much easier.
"I haven't seen the mountains here really, other than the one we're staying at. Sure, when first coming West, I believed it was all inhospitable and desert like." Nureka rubbed her hands together, the gauntlets on her hands did clink together slightly as she glanced his way. Her hood and the fur of it framed her face rather well, and her helmet kept it in place perfectly.
"It isn't like those here think the same from where you are from. It seems a common thing for stories to be told of unknown places and people." Half of it was probably fear mongering, to deter anyone with a taste of adventure to go wandering too far.
"I quite like being an unknown."
"Why doesn't that surprise me to hear?" Kotallo simply asked in return, listening to the quiet chuckle which came from her as she climbed down a small cluster of boulders. She could've just easily taken the path, but no, seemingly always wanted and wanting to go the climbing route she was. Mountain goat through and through, her mother was right there.
