To say that it was even a semblance of controlled chaos would be an understatement, the more machines which seemed to be taken down the more seemed to appear to replace them; this went for both sides, the machines which Beta had managed to print up just continued to flood out and tackle any and all problems that were in their path. It was all well and good, although fighting alongside machines which they had all practiced so long fighting against, felt just a little bit weird.

Having to dodge and weave the best they could, they all managed to get to the main tower, Aloy parted off from them to go and find Beta, along with anyone else who'd cross her path. It would be no surprise that Erik would be one such person to slow her climb up to the top. The rest of the company stood their ground and for a moment were lost on what to do, the machines were scrapping it out, to get in-between some of them would've been dangerous, stupid and dangerous. So far, other than Regalla, they had all made it this far without sustaining any real injuries. Sure, a little scrape here and there, but nothing hugely major. Getting involved in the machines fighting though, that would likely cause major injuries. It wasn't like there were even any Zeniths still trying to fly about, those who weren't taken out by dumb luck and chance from a machine had otherwise disappeared. That wasn't to say some machines didn't deal with a small handful, because they really did.

Turning his hammer in his grasp, Erend just rooted himself to the spot. They were now a rather sorry state of a front line, but if Spectres were going to divert back and try and help whatever Zenith was hiding behind them in the tower, then they were going to need to step in where their machine army struggled. Truthfully, the machine army seemed to be nailing it, they all sort of felt a little obsolete but standing where they were, those with bows were able to help some of their machines in dealing damage.

A few times a Spectre did try its luck and having spotted them it'd split from the pack and come charging over, the almost liquid way in which it would slink and move across the once green grass was unsettling as it was unwelcome. This place, even before the Zeniths decided to retrofit it to their liking, was no doubt a beautiful space; lush and vibrant grassy fields with wildflowers and a few local fauna to call it home. It was clear people hadn't come to settle on this island, there wasn't any other signs of habitation other than the Zeniths, and what they had erected had tarnished this natural little beauty spot. The trampling of machine feet didn't help, but once all of them were dealt with, it was only the next step that nature would reclaim this place, like it had with structures the Old Ones had built.

In the heat of trying to keep any rogue Spectres away at any and all costs, a few things came suddenly crashing to Nureka's mind. One, she had noticed they were another friend short. Two, Alva and Kotallo were over the other side of all of this carnage. Shooting her shot and turning to look Erend's way, she watched as him and Sylens made for an oddly good team, just for the moment. "Where is Zo?!" The first thing to tackle, their Gravesinger friend was missing. She had not that long ago been fighting beside Nureka, she turned for a moment and the next thing she knew, Zo was gone.

Erend drove his hammer several times into the downed Spectre, he just had to make sure it was definitely deactivated, Sylens stood watching the action with a neutral expression, but it was clear he thought Erend doing this was pointless, the Spectre was clearly done with. "What?" Erend shouted back at Nureka, it wasn't that he didn't hear her over all the machine noises, but it was more he was dumbstruck and annoyed that Zo had somehow done a disappearing act.

None of them had splintered off, they were all here, so where did she go? "She was fighting with me, now she isn't. Have you seen her?" Nureka walked towards the two males, turning and reaching into a pouch on her belt, she threw a few little objects forwards. The explosions happened a few moments later, and the Spectre they were attached to flailed to the side and right into the jaws of a Slaughterspine, it was already glowing a brilliant violet colour, clearly it was charged up enough for its main explosive attack.
