Nureka's weight curled up using his chest as a pillow was incredibly comforting and warm to Kotallo. It was quite easy to lay here, thinking that it could be just any other day, by sounds of it no other sounds were being heard from elsewhere in the base. The doors here though were quite thick, extremely well made to keep whomever in and safe from whatever could be happening outside. Shutting his eyes with a quiet sigh, Kotallo couldn't help but take note that it was doubtful it'd keep a Zenith out; even more so considering one of them were soon going to be present.
Would that end up being today? Kotallo had zero clue, no one had any idea when that was likely to happen. It was only Aloy that was in contact with her, they had only just got used to Regalla being present, although it had been two days since she appeared, and all she had done was skulk about downstairs. Which, to be honest, Kotallo was fine with that. Regalla had made zero moves to interact with any of them, the most that they all saw of her was to come up in search of food or drink and then she went back downstairs. She clearly knew she wasn't welcome around them, but also, she literally gave off the vibe that she didn't want to be near them either. It was a hindrance being here, clearly. Or it was a hindrance to her for finding herself still being alive, Kotallo didn't know.
This was usually how mornings went for him, waking with busying thoughts about anything and everything, some thoughts were just loose ends and others just wound on and on and trailed off into nothing. He readjusted his hand, his head resting against it, regardless of the fact he was losing feeling which meant he had slept in that position for a little bit. Soon the prickling feeling travelling through the limb was too much and he lifted his head slightly to feel his very numb hand. He gave it a loose shake, frowning when the numbness seemed to spread because of that action and eventually just rested his hand atop Nureka's head.
The added weight or just the sleepy recognition of it had her nestling more against him, even with her face pressing against his chest, Kotallo could feel a sleepy smile appear on her lips as her hand curled up slowly nearby. He actually didn't mind waking earlier than her, it gave him time to appreciate moments like this, Nureka was always moving about, or talking; to see her stationary let alone happily and contently sleeping away on him, it was just endearing. There were many points within this whole thing, joining Aloy and her cause that Kotallo could say he did not see coming, teaming up with a few enemies was up there, but so was this, it wasn't that himself and people within his clan were heartless like others portrayed, they were human and much like any human they did want closeness with others.
Moving his hand slowly when her head moved, Kotallo just looked down, his mind ceasing for a moment as she nestled her forehead against him for a moment before stilling. He just raised an eyebrow, not a clue what she was doing before her face peeked sleepily up at him. He couldn't help but let out a scoff, that had her confusedly frowning as her eyes stayed barely open. She definitely wasn't fully awake yet.
"You've been awake a while, haven't you?" Nureka moved her hand from where it was curled against his chest and rubbed at her eyes. Alternating between one and the other she could at least watch him nod. She looked at him worriedly once she was more aware, "You haven't just been laying there watching me sleep, right?" She could think of other things to do, he could have tried to get up, but then feeling that she was still basically on him, maybe that wasn't an option.
Kotallo looked at her plainly, "Of course not." Nureka just raised an eyebrow at him, she didn't wholly believe him, but she wasn't quibbling. Instead, just inhaled deeply and rested her head back against him, he was so warm and if he wasn't going to move...
Kotallo just shook his head against the pillow, given the option of course she'd opt to just lay back down. Putting his hand on her head again, he threaded her hair around his fingers absentmindedly, without armour and the usual cloth around his palm it was nice to feel the softy brunette curls. "I am going to go back to sleep, stop doing that." Nureka chuckled slowly, it was soothing and relaxing.
